gr8fl red! 02-11-2005, 02:12 PM Got this from GM , sorry if it is a repost.
Thank you for contacting Chevrolet and for your interest in the Chevrolet Camaro! Unfortunately, at this time there are no plans to reintroduce the Camaro. We appreciate the passion that our customers have for these cars. . We apologize for the dissatisfaction expressed in your e-mail and want you to know that a number of Camaro enthusiasts have expressed their desire to see us start producing them again. We always listen to our customers and use that input to determine which products we will produce. While we have no current plans to produce a replacement for the Camaro, we want to assure you that your comments are appreciated. Although the Camaro always had focused appeal, Chevrolet will continue the tradition of providing performance vehicles with high value. To obtain more information regarding Chevrolet, please visit www.chevrolet.com or contact your preferred dealership to arrange a test drive.

jpolz 02-11-2005, 02:15 PM That's the same generic reply they've been sending out sicne the day the F-Body was discontinued.
Don't get too worked up over it.
Indelibility 02-11-2005, 02:24 PM Yup, Lutz has somewhat hinted at the return of the Camaro in a blog last month. It's coming, they just can't say anything about it yet :thumb:
Ken S 02-11-2005, 02:31 PM are you talking about this blog entry? I don't think he hinted at anything.
And there's more to come ... including our all-new full-size trucks and sport-utilities. I'd love to add at this point for all you Camaro fans that I'm using the blog to announce the rebirth of the F-bodies ... but I'm afraid that would be tantamount to yet another Internet hoax. Sorry.
But I do love the passion with which the Camaro faithful express their undying commitment to the object of their affections. Believe me, I've gotten enough email from you to know! At the end of the day, that's what our business is all about - inspiring passion among the faithful. That's what has allowed me to spend my life's work in an industry I'm passionate about. We should all be so lucky.
Have a great weekend.

Look past the lawyers, and tell me what you see.
DrewSG 02-11-2005, 02:46 PM Did you expact them to say "There are plans to bring back the Camaro in a couple years, so start saving up your money!"
Ken S 02-11-2005, 02:50 PM Call me cynical, but I see them baiting "us". that is all.
Look past the lawyers, and tell me what you see.
falchulk 02-11-2005, 02:57 PM Call me cynical, but I see them baiting "us". that is all.
Its not even a bait. People are seeing what he did not write. He said NO, not MAYBE. When (or if) the news is broke about the new camaro, I doubt it will come from Mr. Lutz.
Toukijin 02-11-2005, 05:21 PM U read the letter Camaro faithful, ALL IS LOST!!!! . Drop those dreams of driving a fifth gen and start saving those greenbacks for that hot new MC SS with the rumbly V-8  . What more could U need  ;) ?
Brangeta 02-11-2005, 05:26 PM Oh it's coming, GM is smart, they know we are foaming at the mouth waiting.
Jason E 02-11-2005, 06:06 PM The car will come. If the Red Sox won the World Series, we will see a 5th gen. Instead of putting that "Believe!" Red Sox bumper sticker on the rear window of the GP last fall, maybe I shoulda put it on the Z so it would have dual meanings :D
CLEAN 02-11-2005, 06:15 PM He didn't say it wasn't coming, he said he wasn't announcing it on the blog.
AronZ28 02-11-2005, 06:20 PM Seems like that his blog about the Camaro was beat into the ground with a 10+ page thread if I remeber correctly. Lets hope we don't have to go another 10+ pages about the same thing.
gr8fl red! 02-11-2005, 09:24 PM I think we will all get the " Chevelle ", the new GTO in 07 will be built in the US, GM loves copying one car and selling it as another. IE see cam/frbird envoy/trailblazer, sunfire / cavalier , vue/equinox etc.
I hope it is not the case, but I fear the camaro , she is gone for quite some time....in which case I will freak out and mail a dirty diaper to gm.
91_z28_4me 02-11-2005, 11:06 PM If you don't know something is coming already then you should definately search, BTW I believe the naming situation has been resolved.
Ramune 02-11-2005, 11:43 PM This part always cracks me up.
Chevrolet will continue the tradition of providing performance vehicles with high value.

GM cracks me up
Again.... GM can't/won't use the "C" word until at least summer 2005

Vue and Equinox are not the same vehicle like the others.
Big Als Z 02-12-2005, 04:33 AM God forbid GM shares chassis....
ULTIMTEORANGESS 02-12-2005, 12:21 PM God forbid GM shares chassis....
people dont seem to get all brands resemble each other.every carmaker does that.
did you see that 05 GTO at rassas?
Pandamonkey 02-12-2005, 01:11 PM I've lost faith...
Brangeta 02-13-2005, 03:10 PM I've lost faith... in people... not GM. GM would hate to lose all of us as customers. They are just waiting until they can kill the SSR off without it looking like a failure, then they will return with a 4 passenger sports car.
Good Ph.D 02-13-2005, 03:54 PM I've lost faith...
 :(
