I have a tazzo vpc like a gtech.I have taken it down the track with me and it was within a tenth of et faster than track,2.5 mph higher than track and 60ft is right on.I can calibrate it to nearest 100th for et,mph and 60ft to be same as track.Anyway it seems very consistent and accurate.
The day before I took my vert to the track it was running like 13.8 to 14 at around 100 to 101 mph with 60fts on the street of around 2.15 to 2.20 with nittos drag tires.
Track day there was a lot of headwind but not sure exactly how much.Could have been 30 or 40 mph.
Track day car ran consistently 14.3 to 14.4 with only 95mph.60ft best was 2.18 and most were around 2.2.Zero track prep and crappy no concrete track.
Day after I ran car again as was sure would see 14.0 or a low 13 and the car again ran 13.8 to 14.0 range on three runs with same mph as day before the track. Now you can take 2.5 mph off those mph on the tazzo.Still the car seems to be down 30 hp or so.3 tenths and 3mph.
I was thinking maybe fuel pump or opti but would think if those were hurting then it should be losing that 30mph all the time not run right day before and day after the track and crappy the day it was there.I plan on delteq shortly and maybe new fuel pump after doing some testing.
But am really wondering if a headwind can cause that loss of et and mph and if any of you guys can say a rough guide for how much mph or et would be lost for how much headwind? I have never seen any correction tables for wind.
The weather was pretty much the same all three days temp wise think around 60 degrees or so.Mods on the vert at the time with raceweight of 3800 1/2 tank fuel were CAI,airfoil,3.42 gears in an A4,magnaflo catback,tb bypass, hpp for gears only, maf translator,1le bellows,ls1 driveshaft and nitto drag radials.
I wish my buddy with similar modded but non vert 94z would have come down that day and we could have compared his normal mph.He usually gets around 98 to 99 mph and 13.8 on bfg drags with 2.0 60fts.His car is like 300 pounds lighter than mine though partly due to his weight of 140 pounds and my weight of 245 pounds.
