Well, it started out with me and my buddy going to get some video of my exhaust/burnouts and fun stuff like that. Its about 1:30am and im driving down a main 2 lane road. Their were no cars around me then all of a sudden i look in my mirror to see a little 95ish neon flying up behind me. I was just crusing at 40 so i slammed it in second. The guy was next to me for about 2 seconds then i pulled like a mutha. I just redlined second(close to 90mph)threw it in neutral and hit my brakes for the upcomming intersecting main road where the light was red with 1 car waiting. The idiot kept going doing well over 90, got in front of me still flying. I said wtf is he doing?! So the guy james the brakes leaving a 15 foot patch, and totally slammed into the car at the light! I didnt know what to do! So the passanger gets out and runs, wtf is that?! Then the neon starts driving down the street with his car smokeing with the old couple he hit chaseing them! The guy made it about an 1/8th mile before his hood flew up covering his windshield! So i went back home which was the next street over and got my buddys blazer and we drove by. They had 2 cop cars their and alot more crusers driving around the area. Their was no ambulance so i figured everyone was ok. Damn, sorry for the rant. Guess you could call that a track kill though.

The danger of street racing... I know you weren't directly resposible, but since you were in the act of street racing, you could be held partially liable for any injuries since you encouraged the other driver to race by your participation.

I know that some (or many) folks would still consider what I do irresponsible, but that's why I will only street race on the freeway, and only if traffic is clear.

Here's a quiz; given that a car stops from 30 mph in 30', how long does it take to stop when going 120 mph?

Roughly 4^2, or 16 x 30, or 480 feet. IOW, distance goes from roughly 2 car lengths at 30 mph to more than an entire football field (including end-zones) when doing 120 mph. Stopping distance, like many other phenonenon, is a square function; i.e., increasing speed by 2 requires 4 times the stopping distance, and inceasing speed by 3 requires 9 times the stopping distance.

Deffinatly makes me think twice about raceing something i know i can beat. Im sure the guy wouldint of been caught if his radiator wasint busted and his hood didnt fly over the windshield. Im sure he had a good story of why he ended up half way down the street.

Yea nuke, thats why we got my buddys blazer, so he couldint point me out as we drove by. But then again i couldint get in trouble for anything since i was doing 40 and the guy flew by me. *sarcasm* :D It does suck though and i feel bad for the guy. Funny thing is my buddy had his camera in his hand the whole time and didnt catch ANY of it.

I hear they are looking for a car somewhere in OHIO that fits this description:

94 Z28, T-56 Conversion, Fresh motor out of a 95, CC305, LT4 Valve Springs, LT4 KM, Moroso CAI, BBK Shorty Headers & Y-Pipe, SLP LM Cat-Back, MadZ28 Tune, 2.73 gears.

If anyone has seen a vehicle fitting this description, please contact the Cleveland P.D. This person is wanted in connection with other, random, car killing incidents.

;)

Haha,

Your a wanted man now.
They described your 2.73 gears perfectly....lol

Good kill on the idiot.

Sounds like this guy was a few clowns short of a circus. You did your part by letting off and slowing down after dusting this guy, what he did after the fact you can't control, he was stupid to try and race something he couldn't outrun anyway IMO he's responsible for his own actions.

Fal,
I just realized that as well. I was looking at his 2.73 gears and noticed the
T-56 in the signature along with them.

If he is running a manual tranny with 2.73 gears then he can do it easily. My question is why on earth would he be sporting 2.73s in a T-56 ?

If Im wrong then someone correct me cause Im just a dumb ass Ford driver...whadda I know. :D

SS did a low mileage LT1/T56 swap with his old worn out Auto/LT1 and his stocker 2.73's are in the rear still. I told him to toss those 2.73's asap in favor of some 3.73's or 4.10's. I think its just a time factor till it gets done. That is your basic explaination.

Great kill on a stupid ass, I have had guys do similar things and just miss traffic lined up at the stop light. Was this on Ridge Rd and was it in the news at all? I could give a very good description of the other driver unless I benefit from some unmarked monitary gain :D

His car may be lackluster in the 1/8th mile , but roll like a damn lambo on the top end...lol

The ultimate gas mileage mobile. .05 6th with 2.73's, thats got to be low RPM's.

Here's and interesting thing about the '93 F-bodies. The 6-speeds had 2.73 or 3.23 rear gears and two different sets of gear ratios for the tranny, depending on the rear gears.

Yeah, a .05 6th and 2.73s would make about 10 rpm on the highway! Talk about gas mileage! :D

I was kidding you. The 6th gear is .5 not .05! A .05 6th should make about 100 rpms on the highway, no joke. :D

I know the right gear, it was a typo. Still I think your getting better gas mileage than a VW bug with that gearing.

Maybe. Or the engine could be bogging where he gets worse mileage.

or is it a 93 tranny with the different 6th gear?

Yea Dustin it was at the intersection of ridgewood and ridge. I dont know if it was in the news at all, but it deffinatly makes for an interesting story. Funny thing is, the next day i raced a trans am GTA and his hood flew over his windshield at 80 mph. Odd it happened twice in 2 days but atleast this kid knew how to drive. He just slammed his hood and kept going, totally destroyed it though.

As for gears im thinking i want to go with 4:10's. ATM im at about 1400-1500 RPM at 80mph in 6th gear. I took it up to 130 the other day and i was in 4th at like 4500-5k RPM. I wonder how fast i will be going with 6th maxed out at 6k RPM's.

336 mph with a .50 6th gear. But it would take a couple thousand hp to pull that gear to that speed in a Z28.

BirchMan98z

lol with around stock #s you're looking at ~130 maxed in 6th gear. 5th is your top-speed gear. Not enough torque with that small gear to hit big numbers.

Ive allready took it to over 130mph in 4th... and it wasint even close to redline.
