I going to be buying my friends vette rims off him and was wondering how do you do the off-setting?

The "offset" is built into the rims... you can't change it. Its the distance the hub mounting flange face is "offset" from the centerline of the wheel. The 4th Gen F-bodys require large positive offsets. If the offset is too large, making the backspace to large, you can use spacers, not always the best solution. If the offset is too small, giving you a shallow backspace, there is nothing you can do about it - the tires will stick outside the fenders. Most recent Corvette wheels also have large positive offsets.

What Vette wheels are you looking to buy..... year and size. If they are OEM GM wheels, I have the offsets and backspace for most of them. If they are "aftermarket" reproductions, you also need to know the offset the wheels were built with. If you can supply the year and size, we can tell you how they fit.
