New Style Mustang
New Style Mustang
I was going to pick up my paycheck and right when i switched over to a different expressway i was coming up the on ramp and getting over and a black car caught my attention in the far left lane and it evidently noticed me too and sped up to catch up to me. I love racing and it was the perfect spot where cops cant sit. So what else better could it of been but one of those brand new old style retro looking mustangs that just came out. It sounded like it had exhaust and it was black and if you like mustangs it might have been sweet but i cant stand them. I think they are rated around 300HP or so and i think he seen an older LT1 camaro and was thinkin maybe a 275-300hp car. My car looks pretty much stock except for lowering springs and 11 inch tires that stick out the back and a license plate that says SPD2MCH, hehe. So He pulls up beside me and gets on it and I let him go first and he gets like a nose on me then i hit it and spun the tires at 60 and got about 8 cars on him in a couple seconds! His face looked funny when he looked over when I went WOT cuz without cats and a huge cam its pretty loud specially through my hooker exhaust. I looked in my mirror and just seen him put his blinker on and get behind me lol. Well hope you enjoyed the story and if your that mustang owner that got smoked on I-76 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Get a real car

In defense of the real car thing, it might be better to compare the stock new GT to the newer LS1 camaro's. But I still think a stock LT1 Would be pretty close to a newer mustang anyways, not to mention the LT1's are more than TEN YEARS OLDER!
. I have seen stock LT1's run 13.8's. What do the new GT's run?
Re: New Style Mustang
If the new GT's are trapping 99 or 100 and an lt1 traps around the same, how does a GT outrun the lt1 with ease?
My buddy is getting a new GT this week so I will rip him a new one and then report back how bad it was for him later

Good kill, I cant wait to get ahold of one. I saw one today I thought I might have a great story to tell but it was a V6. In the pics I have seen they look ok, but on the road I really wasnt impressed with the looks. But looks differs from person to person. Each to his own.
Chalk up another Ohio F-body kill! Seems like there is alot of racing our the highways in NE Ohio.

Not fair to pass judgement on a probably stock or pretty damn near stock car when you have the amount of mods you do. Anyways good kill

Re: New Style Mustang
I dont think properly driven they are all that even.
The new GT is very close to my Mach stock and Ive raced 2 LT1s and had a solid 2 car lead crossing the finish line...back when I was stock.
Just last month before the track closed there was a guy in a new GT with only 180 miles on the ticker
He made two passes and his best was a 8.55 @ 80 mph
Whats the avg ET on an 1/8th mile LT1? 9.0s to maybe a 8.70 best.
Not saying anything is slow just giving Ford their due on the new GT.
I dont like it anymore than you guys because before my mods on the 32V the GT was right there with me.

Re: New Style Mustang
When my 94 LT1 was bone stock it ran 8.52@80 in the 1/8. Well I did have a ram air hood on it at that time. It was also in cool weather, can't rememaber the temp but it was pretty cool for south alabama.
Re: New Style Mustang
HMMM i left sea level in 96 prior to that ALL lt1 cars were running 13:8 and faster on radials even the pos gsc tires they left the factory with.as for the new STANG it is sweet it deserves props for the styling(retro-look)if i had the money and i was not building 2 lt1's and an s10 iwould definately go and pick out a sexy blue colored one, bring it to michigan so jon moss & mark mcphail can set me up with an ls2 and have the baddest retro stang
I sure hope chevy brings that retro69 into production,(sighhh)
