Who's running 315's on your rear's?Ucantcme57 01-31-2005, 12:38 PM I am wanting to put 315's out back.. Who has done this? What is your rim dimensions? What rear are you running? Marc 85Z28 01-31-2005, 01:00 PM I'm running Nitto's 315/35r17 drag radial on a 17x9 GM SS/ZR1 wheel. Using an 02 TA rear. No spacers, no fenderwell mods other than what I had previously done before for larger 15x10s (rolled quarter lips and lightly massaged front of wells). Not the most optimal combo, but it works and looks good. Ucantcme57 01-31-2005, 01:14 PM Do you have any pics of what you did? BlkLT1Z28 01-31-2005, 01:20 PM I have the 17x11 ZR1's on my car with the 315/35/17 Sumitomo's and I have not had to roll the fenders at all. The tires do not rub, the only time they have is if I have 4 people in the car and I toke a corner real fast. But if your car is lowered then you will need to roll the fenders. Duke 01-31-2005, 04:08 PM I have 315/35R17 BFG Drag Radials mounted on 17X10.5 Simmons FR17 rims bolted to a 4th gen rear (wheels are made for a 4th gen). I've done no work to clearance the tires and more, the car has Eibach Sportline lowering springs on it, and they've only touched once, and that was a very major bump. My rear shocks at the moment are 50/50 Lakewood Drag Shocks, so you know there's quite a bit of travel back there. Ucantcme57 01-31-2005, 04:51 PM So I could run some 17 x 11 ZR1 wheels out back and some 17 x 9.5 ZR1's up front? I dont' think I can put my tire on anything less than a 11 inch rim... Ucantcme57 01-31-2005, 05:18 PM Yep.. Michelin and Goodyears both recommend running 10.5-12.5 width in rims Can I run 17X11 Zr1 Rims out back???... I have a 86 with a 97 rear.... Marc 85Z28 01-31-2005, 05:58 PM Do you have any pics of what you did? This should do: Nitto 315 on 17x9 wheel (http://members.aol.com/schitt17/nitto.jpg) I have some other shots, but they turned out dark due to poor lighting. I'm much better with cars than cameras :) Looking dead on from the rear, only the very outer tread block is visible past the quarter panel. This should also show ALL the nay-sayers that a Nitto 315 will fit on a 17x9 safely, with minimal bulge. Even Nitto Recommends using a 10.5-12.5 Inch Rim... http://www.nittotire.com/tires_555r.asp LT1Powered85Z 02-01-2005, 11:15 AM I run 315s. 17x11 ZR1 wheel with a 4th Gen rear. My car is lowered and I have the rear fender lips rolled. I had to "massage" the inner fender well due to the inside wall of the tire rubbing. Eric Marc 85Z28 02-01-2005, 03:07 PM Even Nitto Recommends using a 10.5-12.5 Inch Rim... http://www.nittotire.com/tires_555r.asp Yes, I know that. But lets not turn this into another one of these threads. Look for yourself... does the tire look unacceptable for the wheel? Ucantcme57 02-01-2005, 03:35 PM Oh I believe you... The picture it looks fine.. I was just exclaming the nitto's and the goodyears and michelins all say the same thing.. People talk about the buldge, but I don't think it looks too bad.. not like a 17x11 though.. Ucantcme57 02-03-2005, 10:59 AM So 17x9.5 up front and 17x11's in the Rear.. I should just use ZR-1 Specs to order for the backspacing and offset? JSkeet 02-03-2005, 02:12 PM i think you'll need spacers up front and out back (unless you use the 4th gen rear) and I believe you gotta go 2 1/2" to make clearance for any 4th gen wheel ORDISI 02-07-2005, 11:51 AM i have a friend who is running 325's on his iroc, he used r/s wheels the old ones they dont rub and he didn't roll the lip they look awsome too pretty wide Ucantcme57 02-07-2005, 04:03 PM http://www.skulte.com/adapters.html There it says that I can put 17X9.5's in the front and 17X11's in the rear if I use 2" Spacers all the way around.. bunker 02-09-2005, 03:23 AM or if you get the 36" off seat 315 zr1s you do not need spacers Ucantcme57 02-09-2005, 12:27 PM Stock ZR1 Rims are as follows: 17 X 9.5 = 7.4" Backspacing / +56 Offset 17 X 11 = 7.93"Backspacing / +50 Offset Ucantcme57 02-09-2005, 12:29 PM or if you get the 36" off seat 315 zr1s you do not need spacers So your saying if I order rims and just use the same backspacing just a 36MM Offset then I don't have to use spacers? I am probably ordering American Racing Rims with custom backspacing and offset anyways... | ||
