POLL: Ice down at a strip.. do you do it?psychocabbage 10-09-2002, 03:38 PM I want to know if you do it and if you do, how are you doing it?! I want to know if its dangerous for the electronics or what.. jpz28 10-09-2002, 04:01 PM I did it for the first time last week. went from a 9.49@75mph to a 9.34@75.8mph (1/8th mile track). Good for about .15:D psychocabbage 10-09-2002, 04:06 PM yeah... my LT1 got .3 from it.. 1/4 mile... but I need to know if its worth doing to plastic intakes.. CASPER97TA 10-09-2002, 04:18 PM about the only thing i caould think of is, it cant hurt. given you know to keep the electronics dry. toss a bag of ice on there and let it melt!!! psychocabbage 10-09-2002, 10:04 PM sure it cant hurt.. but at $1.50 a bag.. is it worth it? I could get a Gatorade and energize myself while pushing hehe PhantomTA 10-09-2002, 10:13 PM not really worth much on most ls1 cars with the intake that doesnt get really hot anyways.. but it cantt hurt.. go for it chuck 10-10-2002, 09:49 AM I do it on cars with an aluminum intake like the LT1 or L98, but not on the LS1. The intake isn't even warm after a run. 2001z28Shark 10-10-2002, 01:23 PM Well, maybe it's just the tracks I go to around here, but only desperate Mustangs ice down their intakes (and actually bring generators for giant fans too). I wouldn't be caught dead doing it myself, however I don't think on an LS1 it does much of anything because of the efficient heat dispersion already. Les | ||
