need info on single or twin turbo BBC

I have a 85 Camaro and am fixing to put in a 565 8.5/9.1 CR motor..alum heads etc. I was looking at either a Vortech or Procharger but decided that I should try something different like a single turbo or a twin turbo setup. My goal is a small 1000hp. This will be a carbureted setup going through either a Vortech housing or a Procharger hat. My question is..anyone have any DETAILED pictures of a single or twin install?

i know thirdgen.org has tons of pics, but they are down, the site crashed or something...but i would go with a twin turbo setup if i were you...a single turbo doesn't react as fast as twins do...becuase when you have a single, it has to be way bigger to make up for having just one, but with twins, you can usually get away with getting littler ones, and they react alot quicker.....i know banks has some kids, and there was another company BBS or something along the lines of that, that has a few kits out, so check out those....defintaly gonna be pricey tho to get a kit that holds 1000 ponies tho...sounds like a fun project tho...1000HP street car...

twin Master Power T70 P trim can support 1200hp, or a single GT42 can do the same at 1200hp..just seeing what will fit is what I have a question about.. I also noticed thirdgen.org was down.. I'll check over there also.

Not true at all. A properly sized single will perform just as well as a dual setup and cost quite a bit less since you aren't buying two of everything.

well..Its been changed to a 406 sbc. I bought a eagle rot. assy w/JE dished pistons, 6" rods.. I'm buying a Dart Little "M" block Monday.. I guess my goal is 1000hp on this motor.. my turbos will be twin Master Power T-70 p trim turbos.. we'll see how this turns out. I will buy the t-70's in the next 2-3 weeks..need to put the motor together after the block gets in. The heads are Pro-Topline 235cc alum w/stage 4 porting. Should be fun stuff.

A properly sized single will perform just as well as a dual setup and cost quite a bit less since you aren't buying two of everything. a properly sized? you need a big ass turbo to support 1000+ HP....its a proven fact, 1 HUGE turbo can't respond as quickly as 2 smaller turbo's...common sense, 2 little turbines are gonna spool up quicker than 1 big one, bottom line...

Don't forget he is using a motor with quite a bit more displacement. A 350 or a 383 won't spool a T76 or a T88 nearly as fast as a 406, much less a 565 CID motor like he originally planned. Combine that with the fact that both banks of the motor will be driving the turbo and it should spool pretty quickly, lag shouldn't be a big concern. FWIW, I'm using a pair of PT61 turbos on my 383. They're good for 680 hp each and I got them for $620 each. :)
