Cutout install.... (also anyone have a stock catback around)

I know there is a place everyone recomends I am sure I could find it if I searched...

Question I have though is does he sell cutouts as well or shoudl I pick me up a Summit one.

Also any reccomendations on location/size?

my exhaust is 2.5 in into the CAT then out the cat is 2.25 in I belive I can double check on the mesuremants, but he CATBACK is definitely 2.25 in.

My plans are to mount it in the nomral "cutout spot" just before over the axle. With a 2.25in. I-pipe should I go a 1/4 in bigger since it seems alot of z28 guys go 3 in on a 2.75 in stock catback. Think I should go a 2.5 in on a 2.25 in catback.

And lastly anyone in FL preferably central towards south florida(goin from orlando to ft. lauderdale this weekend) wanna get rid of a stock catback?

Talk to my buddy Jaime at Mr. Muffler in Sanford on 17-92. He'll build you a cut out and install it for the same price as you can buy a thin POS flowtech/summit/Jeg's brand and then pay to have it installed. And IIRC - he has a stock LS1 cat back in his stash there. Just tell him I sent you.

I've got a 3" cutout and cap you can have the next time I see you. I'm replacing my stock cat-back with an SLP dual/dual soon - not sure if it's compatible with your system, though. It already has a different cut-out welded in. I think I want to keep the stock rectangular tips, though.

You can have my stock muffler/tips. I don't have the I-pipe though.

Re: Cutout install.... (also anyone have a stock catback around)

i put a 3 inch on my 98 V6, but it was the PACER brand from JCW, and the muffler necked down to 2.5 (if not less) inside.

it helped a bit, and did not sound too ricey or farty (is that a word now?)

i would think going to a V8 exhaust and a good muff would help you out, esp at the above prices.

not sure about the cutout & back psi on a V6, what do the V6 forums say?

Doubt backpressure woudl be a problem.

I ran a 14.4 with an unhooked catback from around the tail of the tranny back.
