I bought a Sears floor jack(red and silver) and the damn thing won't fit under my car, up front where the k-member is. :( So what sort of jack do you use? I'm trying to stay under $250. Thanks

I've got an aluminum jack. Goes VERY low and is very light. Works great!

Ive got an AC Delco that barely doesnt fit. I can either lift up on the front of the car just enough to slide it under or i lay some 2x4s down and drive the front tires onto those.

Brent, does the handle on your jack go completely horizontal? That has been the problem with the two jacks I bought. I returned my orginal one to Sears and bought their low profile one, only to have the handle hit on the fender and front bumper.

Low Pro (uni roller in front) aluminum jack from jegs, or sometimes i roll it up on ramps and then start jacking, or if im really desperate for room i either go to my friends house and use his x-lift or go to the old local marathon station my dad friend owns and i rent the second bay for $20/week since all he does is oil changes anymore and really doesn't need the money.

i have one from SAMS club, don't remember the exact price but it was under $80. it's been very useful so far, it's a goodyear racing jack. if you don't have jackstands get the goodyear racing jackstands also, $25 and they're much better than what you will find at autozone.

Costco 3 ton floor jack, $69. It will fit under a stock height Z28; mine is lowered 1" so I have to lift it a half inch to get the jack to fit.

I got a jack for something like fifty bucks, works wonders... it's small enough to fit anywhere and I carry it around in my car because it's so small.

Handle goes almost perfectly horizontal at its pivot point... not quite but damn near. Should work just fine for ya :)

To lift the front of mine I use these 2 2x6 ramps my father made, it's 2 pieces of 2x6 ontop of eachother with a lip and ramp so I can get the car up high enough to get the jack under the front K member.
