Some people say the LS6 spring should not be used with a cam with more than .550 lift, some people say .570.Which is it?

I plan on using a cam with .566 lift.
LS6 spring safe or not?

depends on the year springs they are.

seems like i remember the first year or 2 of the LS6 they were only rated to .550"

but after that they are .570"

why not just get some CC918 springs good for .600"

I would only think about using the LS6 springs with the following cams:

LS6 cam
LS1 Hotcam
ASA Hotcam - even here I would be thinking about 918's.

These are free springs from a friends 03 Z06. It's a lack of money issue?
tight budget these days.

Also I found out the ASA cam is rated at .570 lift and GM recommends using 02 and newer LS6 springs with that cam.

Thanks guys.

LS1 Hotcam 218/228 .525/.525 112 lsa
ASA Hotcam 226/236 .525/.525 110 lsa
ASA Grand Am Cam 239/251 .570/.570 106 lsa

The last two can be easily confused.

A set of 918's is only about $150-175. Maybe better, I haven't priced them in awhile.

I would use the Comp 918's or the Manely NexTek Springs.
