sunsetorangess 01-21-2005, 12:25 AM i was wondering if someone that knows could give me an idea of about how much horsepower i have. Ok, i have a 2001 ss with factory slp 345 hp option, slp lid, cutout, slp long tube headers, slp dual-dual exhuast (which came from the factory). Let me know what you guys think.
CrippleFightin 01-21-2005, 01:37 AM 340-350
Go get it dynoed for $50 and get a real number ;)
sunsetorangess 01-21-2005, 11:41 AM Thanks, I also have an off road y-pipe, with no cats if that would give me anymore??
Antz97ZNJ 01-21-2005, 08:29 PM about 5 more hp
mavricki18 01-21-2005, 08:55 PM I put dwn 334 with headers(no cats) lid and a cutout
yours has a ls6 intake so i would say your in the 340 to 350 range also
sixspeedfirebir 01-21-2005, 09:29 PM Horsepower? I don't know but my car put down 13,462.4 Monkey Power...
Just find a place to do a dyno run, every car is a little different from the factory and everyone responds different to mods.
6speedZ28 01-21-2005, 11:41 PM 2001's didn't have a 345hp option
sunsetorangess 01-22-2005, 12:55 AM Yes it does, it's even on an option list sticker on the door if you want me to take a picture of it! And no it wasnt put on there for people to think i have it. lol. Thanks for everyones reply's though.
6speedZ28 01-22-2005, 02:21 PM Then you my friend have a 2002 SS. I have all the fliers from SLP for the SS for each respective year. The only year that was offered the 345hp option was 2002. Anybody else care to chime in?
Klypto 01-22-2005, 02:26 PM you may have the fliers... but why call bs when he has the sticker for his car...
my .02
cory
6speedZ28 01-22-2005, 02:30 PM I'm curious......and I mean really curious. Whats the build date on your car?
sunsetorangess 01-22-2005, 02:52 PM the build date is 4/01.
sixspeedfirebir 01-22-2005, 03:00 PM That's probably an '02 then. My formy's build date is 5/99 and is considered a 2000
UltraZLS1 01-22-2005, 03:27 PM Are you wanting flywheel power or rear wheel?
I would guess around 330-350 rwhp depending on car and dyno
flywheel would be between 370-390.
6speedZ28 01-22-2005, 05:52 PM I think you need to call SLP on Monday with your vin# and see what you have. Sounds to me like you have a 2002 Camaro SS, not a 2001. When you call you can ask them yourself if 2001's had the 345hp option. :)

I think you are crazy. There is no way he is putting dow that much rwhp or fwhp. Maybe in the 320's for rwhp.
robb4964 01-22-2005, 07:38 PM 340-350
Go get it dynoed for $50 and get a real number ;)
He said 345 stock
Im willing to bet your pushing somwhere close to 380 crank HP .
sunsetorangess 01-23-2005, 12:10 AM Yea i'll have to check on that, i'm pretty positive its a 2001 but stranger things have happen!! Anyways thats what i figured about 350 rwhp and about 390 flywheel, i going to dyno it eventually and let ya'll know!
robb4964 01-23-2005, 01:01 AM Have you ran it ? your trap speeds say a little bit . if you trap 109+you probably pushing 380+
DanBUCF 01-23-2005, 01:34 AM 345 hp package wasn't offered 'till 2002. :)
My guess is you're gonna be somewhere between 340 - 355 rwhp. Thats a pretty safe assumption.
sunsetorangess 01-23-2005, 11:09 AM Yea i ran it when it was stock and it ran 13.4@108 and traction was a problem. Since then i put aftermarket lower control arms whick helped some. I'm thinking it problably could've went high 12's stock if the traction was there. And i'm sincerely not a person to bull**** about this, if your thinking that because i notice alot of people not believing alot of things posted on this board. Neways i havent ran it since i started modding it but its in the 12's for sure.
DanBUCF 01-23-2005, 12:15 PM Well, as many can attest...Having a 12 second car and having a 12 second time slip are 2 completely different things... ;)

:metal: Sounds familiar..when My car was stock and I ran a 13.2@108 " nursing it off the line " I knew a I had a 12 second car but I didnt have the drag radials to prove it . LOL..Just like Dan said .
Everyimte Id say " it will do 12's " my friends would say " where's the time slip ?" Most of them called BS saying 13.2 was all she had " my older friends who didnt know anything about LS1's"
I know how ya feel :D

UltraZLS1 01-23-2005, 07:04 PM Just a tip for your signature. When you say off-road y-pipe, there is no need to also state that you have no cats...just a suggestion :)

VERY TRUE!! lol I changed it, thanks.
Okay, if its got the 345HP option, would that not mean thats what it has at the flywheel? If thats not the case my car has 320HP at the wheels and 360HP at the flywheel, which I know is incorrect. Unless the SLP package really ups the RWHP that much???? My friend 00 Z-28 m6 dynoed 304Hp and 311 ft/lbs on a dynojet this summer. thats my .02.
