00-02 air bag & steering whell work on a 99 camaro SS?

Hey guys I have a 99 SS camaro. I was wondering if I could put the 00-02 driverside air bag and steering wheel in to replace my factory one. The new steering wheel has the volume controls and the air bag just looks cleaner.
My mirrors are already painted the same color as my car it would be cool if I could do this to. Thanks

Yeah it could be done . If you are going to continue to keep the air bag functional , I wouldnt even think about it though . The 99-prior and 00-02 were different air bag systems as far as how they blew . The older being single stage and the later 2 stage blowing lighter on light crashes . The 2 bags may be compatible , but it would be real hard to get anyone to guarantee you that .

At any rate you will need along with the wheel and airbag , a 00-02 airbag coil ( clockspring ) to get the radio controls to work . Its what all the wiring for the horn , airbag and radio controls go thru . Your 99 coil wont work , and the clockspring must be from a car that hasnt had the airbag deployed . If the bag was popped the coil will no longer work .
