How long will my auto tranny last with a 100 to 125 shot?

I want to get a nitrous kit for my 96z.I plan on 2800 vig converter and have 3.42 gears.I am wondering how many of you auto guys are spraying this type of shot and how your trannies are holding up.I have heard some people say the tranny will break right away and some say it has held up ok.I will install a window switch as hear that should help and is a good safety idea anyway.
So if don't spray thru the shifts will this help the tranny last longer?

So lets hear from some of you guys that spray on your stock autos. And would prefer first hand experience not "my friends cousin blew his tranny with spray ".

I have no window switch and I spray right off the line........no problems so far.

Mine went a year and a half spraying through shifts. Soon as I added the cam it lasted 6 passes. If I would have put in a window switch I know it would have lasted a lot longer.( the car now has a window switch) As long as you run a window switch your tranny should be fine.

Why do you have to run the window switch as long as you control when you turn on and off your nitrous with a push button?

If you bog off the line, or hit the rev limiter and your finger is still on the button, serious damage can result. You can set the window switch to a few hundred rpm before your rev limiter, and you'll never over rev with nitrous.

Automatics don't bog too frequently to the best of my knowledge.

How does a window switch make your tranny last longer? I thought it only shut off the nitrous when your engine was out of the pre-programed rpm.(example 3k to 6k). So if you shift at 5800 and RPM's drop to say 3500 your motor stays in the required rpm to keed the system activated, Right? Is this not how it works?

Window switches all you to set a turn on and off window for the nitrous.Normally it turns it on at like 3000 and off at like 5800.Since car shifts at like say 6100 this prevents spraying thru the shifts which is supposed to be harder on the trannies and also prevents nitrous coming on at like 1000 rpm.I think with a stall this is not so much a worry and lots of guys seem to spray thru the shifts ok but also its not good to hit the rev limiter on spray either.

Does anyone have a price on the new msd digital window switch think it would be better than the plug in modules. And where can you get it? Its a pretty new product.

I also have to check thought my maf translator plus has some nitrous things in it like timing retard but dont' think it has build in window switch.Have to find my manual for it.

Ok, that's what I was thinking. So a window switch only prevents spraying thru shifts if you set it to shut off right before the shift.
That seems like it would hold me back. If my tranny can't handle it, so be it, good excuse to upgrade!!!!

Fuel injected usually no, but I've seen plenty of carbureted cars stumble off the line, then backfire out the carb.....

My A4 lasted about 3 weeks on the 100 shot of juice but it was also 10 years old and did have some runs on it, now I am having a CPT full race trans built to handle it, and I have a window switch so I was not spraying trough the shifts either.

you set the window switch to kick it off before you or the tranny shifts, simple as that.

My stock trans with over 100k on it lasted to a 12.2x effort. It didn't break hard parts, it just slips under full load shifting into second gear. And, it did this on the street after the 12.2x run.
