I'll be starting at St. Phillip's community college in a few days, and since it's been 4 1/2 years since I've seen a classroom... I'm kinda lost. Do they give you a list of the books you need on the first day of class, or do I have to find that out before I go?

Thanks guys.

I go to Sam Houston State in Huntsville, and have also attended a community college in the Bay Area of California. In all my experiences, I have taken my schedule with me to the bookstore, and the people there know which books go with what class/section. Basically, you'll hand them your schedule, and then they'll lead you around and pile books into your arms, hardley any work for you :-).

ya, or at sac etc, they have little books hanging from the shelves that tell u what u need, or u can ask for help, or u can wait till the 1st day, and on ur syllabus they'll tell u what u need

most book stores have signs that designate which shelves are for what general classes (ie. psyc, engr, hist). then under each stack of books on the shelves, they have a paper with the class number that book is for. then again...things might be different in aggieland. good luck with school, i hope everything goes well.

Blinn College Yeah! If you buy your books early, you can get used ones. If you wait till the first day of school, all they have is new ones. Unless your rich, then I guess it wouldn't matter.

I go to SMU in Dallas. I go online and print out my schedule for the next semester, take that to one of the book stores near campus and get my books that way. Then, in case we don't end up needing them, I don't open them if they are new until the 2nd week of school when I'll know if I need them.

Does anybody else go to SMU? If you do, I'm starting the SMU car club this semester and you should join. :)

usually you just go to the bookstore on campus, and they'll have the books sorted by subject. Say you need an english book, find the book with the label ENGL whatever under it.

I'm just going back to school after a year and a half off, I'm goin to TSTC in Waco. Classes start Monday. :(

Wait till the first day of class! I am a masters student at UH and I have had more than a few problems with buying the books the store says are correct. The teacher is the one who knows so ask them. You dont need books the first day, all they will do is read the syllabus and some professors will tell you not to get books at all just to use a specific website for readings. I have been in school for five years and this method has never failed me.
Also Texas college girls are hot, why do you think I am still in school. JUGS

I beg to differ. My school, TSTC, I've only seen about 10 total hot girls, and none of them were like REALLY hot or anything. Of course this is a technical school...

On the bright side, Baylor is just down the street, and it's PACKED with them. The gym I go to is a few miles from Baylor so there's constantly gorgeous girls there. There's a community college down the road too that's loaded with hot girls as well. :D

But seriously, I've spent time in College Station, up by UT, and in SWT, and I've never seen as many hot girls as I see at Baylor. Sure, all those colleges have lots of hot girls, but they're not as plentiful, or they just have a lot of semi-hot girls. You can just drive through Baylor and literally EVERY girl you see is SUPER hot. I've talked to a few guys at Baylor though, and from what I've heard lots of them are keepin it tight for Jesus though.

So true. My sister went there. Not bad, but not near good, either.

TxState and Tech would be very close.
SMU is up there, too, because they're all Highland Park girls. ;)

Most of the Highland Park girls don't wear very much makeup. I'm not into girls without mascara, just a pet peeve of mine. SMU girls are pretty hot overall, but I can't really compare to anywhere else since I've only gone to SMU. One thing I will say is that there are too many short ones. The common girl at school is 5'4" and blonde.

I'm into tall skinny brunettes, runway model style. You have a huge selection if you like 5'4" blondes with pretty faces and slight chubbyness. Financial aid is HUGE, I go to SMU for less than I would pay to go to Tech :D.

Yeah, Jesus is probably the biggest c*ck blocker of all. Also, I'm not so sure about Baylor's academics... I mean, I know a few people with some VERY low SAT scores that got accepted to Baylor

I'm currently going to St. Edward's University in Austin. I'm done with public schools. Now it's more about quality education (and competent personnel) for me than what place has the hottest girls. Although, I will say that in my few years at Texas State, I have concluded that it would be hard to beat that place in the eye-candy deparment. Just take a stroll by Sewell Park on a sunny day to see what I mean

It is pretty cool, you can find old friends on it and new ones. Even find out what girls in your classes are single if you want.

I found my best friend from elementary school on it and haven't even talked to him in over 8 years, it was really nice.
