AxeGrinder30thZ 01-05-2005, 10:20 PM Check it out. Let me know what you think. I may get a lot of flak for doing it, but I really like it and it looks great in person. Shots are at night, but I'll get some more tomorrow in the sunlight so you can really see how it looks. Pictures don't do it justice.

Megalis 01-06-2005, 01:41 AM I know where that paint came from, and I will give you an "A" for effort but that color just does not go with the car at all. I have seen it up close. I think it is suited for a very dark interior. I have always wanted that paint, but at Walmart and everywhere else it is only available in that color. Supposedly there will be other colors this year including red and some shade/s of blue. Now that may be nice.
But again, it's your car and what makes you happy that's what you have to go with.
AxeGrinder30thZ 01-06-2005, 06:34 AM The paint is called Mirage. I figured most people wouldn't like it, but when it gets out in the sunlight, I love it. Even the base coat of satin black looks great if anyone wanted a real smooth look.
95_LT1_6SPD 01-06-2005, 02:03 PM They have other colours around here. I bought the gray, but it turned out to be that colour when i sprayed it. So i took the paint back, so i got the paint job on my bottle for free.
NOMAD 01-06-2005, 07:05 PM Yes, they have about 3-4 colors. I've painted my intake, valve covers, emblems on ym car with it. I've painted Heathers entire engine block and valve covers with it. Held up on mine for 2 years and its been on hers for over 1 year. Good stuff if you strip the material and take your time :)

AxeGrinder30thZ 01-06-2005, 08:17 PM Well, I finished up the middle trim last night that goes around the cd player, A/C controls, etc. and to be honest, I hated it. The vents looked great, but the middle piece looks TERRIBLE. As much as I really liked the vents, I couldn't have the entire interior that way. I did some more work with the middle trim and got an awesome idea. It's drying right now. I can't wait to post it up when it's finished. As soon as it's done, I'm going to go to work on the vents AGAIN.
AxeGrinder30thZ 01-08-2005, 04:23 PM Alright. Well, got some updates. My first idea didn't work. I painted the trim entirely Arctic White. Let it dry, then masked off a stripe horizontally, painted the vent area hugger orange and the bottom satin black. It looked almost too Harley Davidson and I didn't like it. So, I started all over and just did it all in hugger orange. I got some pics in the Webshots. It looks a little too bright, but I like it much better than the white or the chameleon that I had.

Well it looks better than before. The artic white idea is not bad, but maybe instead of one horizontal line, you should have done 2 Vertical Hugger Orange lines like the car has :D Personally though I don't like having to many colors going on at once. You have the grey/graphite/black combo with White Which is ok, and now orange. Just to many contrasting colors for my taste. I saw the pics of the trim in White and that was better. But that's just my .02. You did a good job with the paint though!
