car show guys inside

I am going to enter a few car shows this summer but there are a few things I am worried about. In the hatch area there is a few deep cuts in the plastic in two places, on the plastic on the lower side of the drivers door there is some wear marks from the seat belt and there is a crack and wear mark next to the A/C vent below the head light switch. Should I get these replaced before I go to the shows or should it not hurt me that much? I am not looking to win this season but I would like to do good. The car is very very clean and well kept.

It really depends on what kind of car shows you are going to. If they are big-time or important to you, I would replace the pieces.

Definately fix and replace. Maybe consider modifying it as well. It does depend on the show, especially if you are being judged by professional judges. Just my .02 from 10 years plus of doing it...

Well I am one of those guys thats not into painting peices or having things that do not look stock for the factory, I will have accents and stuff like that here and there but that about it. I mean there will be a few things I am going to do but not much. Part of me wants to got for power this season and concetrate on show stuff next season. I like the shows that are more of stock clean cars (I.E. no cars that are all painted on the inside and stuff like that) but I still would like a nice MBA shift **** and stuff like that.

If you are entering car shows you will definately lose points for any imperfections so if you want to take home the hardware I suggest you get it fixed. Also clean those hard to get areas too like inside the wheelwell and under the hood. It will make the differance between winning and losing.

Trust me I do!
Once it gets a little warmer I am going to clean the engine/wheel area/ underbody top to bottom
Once I get serious my view will be this: Second place is the first looser. It pays to be a winer
