What oil are you all using on your blower cars?

Im just wondering because I was going over the manual and vortech calls for 20W 50 oil.. Im using regular 10W 30 oil.. The motor is a brand new 383. I didnt want to go that thick since everything is pretty tight in there and thicker oil I always thought was to make up for wear. I was thinking of going to a 15W 50 mobil 1 synthetic oil but im not sure if I should go that think on my 383. Then I was thinking of the oil break down and the added heat on the oil because of the charger. that being another reason I want to go thicker.. Also my blower is extremly loud. I was thinking the oil maybe the culprit.

Thanks!
Happy new year too..

If you have a new 383 I would use what the engine builder recommends. If you built it with stock clearances then you'll be fine with 10-30 Synthetic after break-in. I have a Vortech and I run Mobil 1 10-30 in the winter and 15-50 in the summer.
