The rear lettering is peeling off, need advice on which glue/adhesive to use
The rear lettering is peeling off, need advice on which glue/adhesive to use
I have those "3D" type rear Camaro letters. Some are starting to peel off. I really don't want tape. I just want something that is a liquid, paste or spray so I can get into the corners where it's starting peel. So any recommendations on what to get? I think I saw a 3M type liquid at walmart but not sure if that would work. Thanks for any help

Honestly, you should use a tape; 3M foam adhesive tape, the grey stuff with the red liner.
It's all they use in the automotive industry to hold stuff like that on and it works great if done properly; namely with alcohol cleaned surfaces, and a hairdryer to soften/sticky-up the tape.
Adhesives are typically very bad for your car and paint; the only one I would even think of using would be weatherstripping adhesive.

That actually doesn't sound too far off; I get them for cost from either my GF (Insurance Estimator @ Collision shop) or my brother (A tech for over 20 years) 8)

I had the same problem. I used a little little tab of automotive silicone. I have had no problems. The letters stick good and can be removed easily. Just use a little drop it will hold trust me - Mike

Yeah it works very very good. I bought those same 3-d letters for mine and they started to peel off within the first two days. I wanted something that would hold it on the car but yet not harm the paint. After I put the silicone on - I had not one letter try to peel off. I wash the car almost everyday to keep it as in great shape so it even held with water on it. Plus I can peel it off easily and you cannot even tell anything was on the car. But make sure you use just a little. Maybee just a little tab around all the corners or middle. - Mike
