Anybody use Accel 375+ with boost retard???

I just purchased the accel 375+ race controller which hooks up to my 300+ ignition box. To use the boost retard function it states that I need a 2 bar map sensor and harness. Is this true on the LT1's???? I've been looking at the 2 bar map sensors and they look the same as the stock lt1 map sensor. If I do need this 2 bar map do I simply switch it with the stock one? Will the computer get all messed up under boost? I'm hoping that someone on here is running this setup and can give me some insight.

Thanx.

Nobody knows?? I wouldnt think you need the sensor. i was under the impression it needs a vacuum reference. Hopefully someone can chime in.

I looked on Summit's site. The recommend a 2 bar map for "Suggested Parts". It is sold seperate from the kit for another $80!!!

Well considering there is no vacuum when there is boost it couldn't reference it that way. I'm just curious to know if the 2 bar map will replace the stock map or will I have to mount it somewhere else???

When I said vacuum reference, I meant intake charge reference. Boost or vacuum ;) I would think its a second MAP sensor for reference only. If the map replaced the original sensor, then you would need to rescale tables and you would then be able to edit timing in for boost instances. If that was the case, then the timing retard wouldnt be needed at all. ;)

Somebody must know...

Not familiar with the unit, but it is probably using the 2bar as reference when to take out timing at or above 0 psi. There are cheaper places for 2 and 3bar sensors, i'll post when i get a chance to look them up.

I contacted the guy i bought the 375+ from and he said the following:

"As for the 375+, it does not come with the 2 bar or 3 bar map when you
purchase it. Those parts are purchased separately... The reason they do
that is because not everyone has a blower... For example, with nitrous,
you just set a fixed timing pull which is activated by a switched 12v
source... While the box does handle the proportional timing control (with
the use of separately purchased MAP's) it doesn't come with them..."
