suspension question

happy holidays everyone.......just a quick question ...what is the purpose of the panhard bar and lower control bars? thanks

The panhard bar controls the left to right movement of the axle(looking from the back), while the lower control arms control the front and back motion of the axle(from the back again).

i have replica corvette C5 wheels on my car.....and when i drive it hard....they rub on the inner fender well.......wht can i do to prevent this from happening? bigger sway bar? better springs, shocks? thanks for the help...........

It depends. If the wheel rubs on just one side, then you could get by with just an adjustable panhard rod. If it rubs on both, you'll probably want to get a adjustable panhard rod anways, and do a little pounding on the inner fenders.

they should tuck right in, however, my good friend has a 95Z and he has the ss/zr1 11" wheels in the back, his rubs. he got a PHR and it fixed the problem completely...but, he also hit the bumpstops. he removed them altogether.

Some C5 wheels have an excessive "offset" which puts them too close to the inner fenders on the 4th Gen F-Bodys. Measure the clearance between the inner edge of the tire and the fender liners.... should be the same on both sides. If it isn't, the adjustable panhard rod will help you correct that. If the spacing is about the same on both sides, hammering (or spacers, but I hate those) may be the only solution.
