Donohue96M6Z28 12-22-2004, 12:21 AM ive kept mine open ever since i got it installed(a month or so), but capped it yesterday and my car was quiet as hell, i put it on bc i heard it could start alot of rattles etc, but i hated it being quite, and i love the way it sounds so i took it back off, what do u guys do ? keep it on or off? do u think i should probably put it back on? do u think ive probably started alot of rattles already? i cant really notice any, but thats bc the cutouts still open :)thanks
DWray 12-22-2004, 03:37 AM Two cutouts right after the h-pipe following my Hooker longtubes. Always open. :)
:p
PonyStalkerZ28 12-22-2004, 03:45 AM :metal: I keep mine open all the time, mainly cause I have some exhaust leaks  and you cant hear them with it open but also cause it sounds alot meaner. I have rattles when mine is off but I put it on awhile back because I forgot what it sounded like and I was showing someone the diff, that whole day it was on I didnt hear any rattles. Its okay though cause I know where they all are so I am about to take my dash apart and fix all that :D . I would just leave it off  .

Donohue96M6Z28 12-22-2004, 07:03 PM alright guys thats exactly what i wanted to hear:), thanks :thumb:
GrdLockV6 12-22-2004, 11:31 PM I don't exactly have a cutout on the Acura I have now, but all four of the f-bodies I've owned in the past have had them, and they all stayed opened all the time. Does it cause rattles? Yes. Do I care? No. :D
Although on one of my LT1's I closed the cutout occasionally cause it had longtubes, off-road y, and Hooker cat-back, and sometimes I liked the sound of that... still insanely loud and mean, but since the exhaust exits at the rear instead of reverbing off the concrete, it's a lot quieter inside!
95GRNZ 12-23-2004, 09:29 AM Nope.
I hadn't opened it in ages until this past Sunday. I've been driving like that now for a few days and it's about time to crawl back under there and close it off...
Don't get me wrong, I loooove the way it sound open, but enough is enough... I really need to get an electric plate for it. Then I would definetely enjoy it more.

If you decide to go electric, the DMH unit is awesome. I've had mine over a year now w/ no problems.
97BBlackZ 12-23-2004, 10:59 AM yes :metal:

Yeah I guess it's quite good. However, I do know many people who have had good luck with the MPP2, so since it is less expensive than the DMH unit, I might have to go with that. We'll see...

I've had alarms go off in parking lots next to the street. :D
TechCam97 01-02-2005, 03:33 PM When I drove it as my daily driver, it was open 24/7! But now my wife drives it daily with our newborn, so it's capped up to protect her hearing, lol.
