so this is the 1st winter i've had my 98 Z28 (previously had a 91 V6) and i'm shocked and amazed at how badly it sucks in the snow. i actually sat at a stoplight for 3 cycles spinning my rear wheels trying to get traction. if anyone in nh or nearby has a winter beater in good shape i could have for $500 or less i would be very interested.

I got my mustang stuck today in my work parking lot (bastards didn't plow it). After about 20 min and a tow from a coworker, I was out. Needless to say, I just order a set of snow tires and filled the trunk with a bunch of kitty litter. Good luck.

I drove my 97 Z with a 383 through 3 winters on regular Kumhos. The secret is one or even two 80lb. bags of cement in the trunk. You can get them for like $5 a bag at Home Depot.
Do you have a stick or auto? If it's an auto, you're going to have a tougher time and it might be cheaper to invest in snows than a beater.

I've got an '87 Volvo GLE Wagon for sale......$500
Here's a quick rundown...
1987 Volvo Station Wagon
- 4 cylinder/Automatic
- LOW Miles (87k+)
- Heated Leather Seats
- Tilting/Sliding Moonroof
- Runs/Drives excellent
- Brand New Tires
- Needs brakes & exhaust
$500
More detail on Exhaust/Brakes...
Exhaust - Tailpipe/muffler fell off. The resonator & cat are still there, so you could get a $10 exhaust repair kit & make it quiet enough to get by. I do have the lifetime warranty thinger from Mineke/Midas for a new muffler if you want that too
Brakes - if you can stand a little vibration from worn rotors, you could def get away w/ just changing the pads.......
Some pictures (bad quality, I know)

& as far as other things that I can think of....here's a short list:
- Heat/Defrost work fine
- A/C doesn't work
- No stereo
- Brakes/Exhaust (described above)
- Probably new battery (it's been sitting for a month now), it should take a jump though
- Passenger-side window switch doesn't work (you can put it up using the driver-side switch though).
thanks!
