4 link?

im new to this board so bear with me. i own a 3rd gen 86 z28. i am helping a friend with his 1st gen 68 hardtop we are looking for a 4 link rear suspenson. preferrably a bolt in kit. has anybody heard of this type of kit or know who to talk to? any help is appreciated.

i've heard of one for the 4th gens, i was planning on getting it until i saw that it's illegal for the track. well, certain tracks and types of racing any way. btw, for anyone who wishes to bash my knowlege of racing regulations bash away, i have no clue what's legal and what's not, i was told by a friend it's a bad idea because i wouldnt be able to go to the track "officially" to race with that setup.

the setup i was going to get was called something like 4th link or 4-link...something goofy like that. it basically removed the torque arm and phr, if i remember correctly, the LCA as well. it was in a custom shop's magazine so i couldnt do too much research on it and i never did. sorry if i couldnt help ya more.

I've never heard of a "bolt-in" 4-link except for cars that already had 4-link style suspensions.

If he's serious about putting a 4-link under his Camaro, then he's in for a LOT of work. I've done it before to a car almost identical, a '74 Nova. It took quite a bit of work and custom fabrication even with a "back-half" kit. We put the Competition Engineering Pro 4-link and 12 Pt cage into the car. Expect to spend the better part of a couple months if you've never done it before; although the pro's can do the whole job in about 2-4 weeks.

the guy that told me about it also said that he could help me, he welds. he said it would take about 30 shop hours, or about a week and a half with me and him working on it during off-time.
