Weiand Superchargers

I'm really looking into superchargers, and I think I want something like the weiand 144 or 142, they are just the little ones with 5-7 lbs of boost, but they make a pretty decent change to your motor...But I have a few questions first.
1. Will this supercharger mount on my L98 aluminum heads? Are the angles and everything right?
2. My compression, I believe, is a bit too high for a supercharger....how do I go about lowering the compression ratio
3. How much of a gain will I see? i've heard along the lines of 100HP+
4.How big of carb should I run with it?
5. Is there a differnece between the 144 and 142 models???
also, i was planning on doing some other work to the top end of the motor, like maybe head work or something....is there anythign specific I should get done? or should I just do a basic port job and stuff? do the springs or anything like that have to get changed out??

I had one of these a few years back on a 3rd gen, 355, 208/221 cam, TFS heads, etc... It makes a fun combo with lots of low-end and sounds really cool. HOWEVER, they won't support much power. The more power you make on motor, the less it will add. If you have over about 500 hp, it won't help at all and, honestly, 500 hp is not that hard to acheive naturally aspirated these days.

But to answer your questions. . . I think the L98 aluminum heads have the right bolt pattern. Lower yuor compression with dish pistons, or large chamber heads. The gain depends on alot of things. A 750 vacuum secondary will be fine if you run the 50 cc accelerator pump and a 35 squirter. B&M makes the 144 and Weiand makes the 142. The difference is in the rotor tip sealing. B&M uses teflon strips and Weiand uses layrinth seals. I really don't think there's a performance differance between them, but he B&M is lower profile by maybe 1/2". A basic port job is fine.

alright so my best bet is to do a basic port job, get deep dish pistons, and the 144 charger with a cam to match....i'll find a cam after i get everything.....do engine shops charge much to replace pistons, cuz i believe you need special tools...or can you do it yourself???but can anybody else 100% say that this blower will mount on my heads??also i'm not going over 500 HP....too much gas going down for my likings...i wanna stay around 400-450 crankHP..

400 - 450 hp is easily attainable without a blower.
