well i will be converting to non oem fuel rails,

first question, i figured i would ask before i hooked battery up, got a gas can and turned the keyto verify. which of the stock lines going to the intake is the feed line.is it the bigger one or smaller one?

second question. the small module on the passenger side of the intake.... that currently has the vacuum line going into it...do i need to keep this or not? i heard it isn't required to be hooked up.

also the vacuum hose that comes out of it goes to a y vacuum fitting. wtf are those lines for...can i just eliminate that $hit. i don't have HVAC system in the car anymore.

thanks alot for the feedback guys...in advance of course :)

if memory serves me correct the larger one is the feeder and the smaller is return

also the module is for the evap canister mines unhooked and gone of my car
it also has a vac line going to the fuel lines as well as the TB.

now the vac lines that goes into the y fittin might be the ones for the HVAC system

not sure on the 96's

is this the stuff you talking about

what is it like on your car. i understand that the small line, being the thrid line for the fuel sustem goes into that module, i am just going to disconnect it from under the car and cap it off.

hmm i am running the monoblade, and i don't recall if i have a vacuum line running into the t.b. lol!!! how pathetic! let me run and take a look.......brb........ok, no lines to the throttle body, i didn't think there were.

back to the white y fitting for the vacuum lines. actually one line comes out of the harness lead into the trans tunnel, the second one heads into the wire harness that goes toward the battery.
where is our charcoal cannister in our cars is it under the battery?

thanks
taner.

charcoal canister is located just behind the filler neck in the rear qtr panel to access it you have to pull the filler neck plastic thingy off and also the rear inner fender liner evap system (http://shbox.com/1/evap_system.jpg)

i pulled the module and lines off and capped everything as well but mine is a lil different then yours mines missing #7,5, and 1 (http://shbox.com/1/1995_evap.jpg)

HVAC vac lines (http://shbox.com/1/vac_check_valve.jpg)

HVAC vac tank location 1995 (http://shbox.com/1/vacuum_tank.jpg)

everything i bet is pretty close to the same location on your 96

yeah it wont hurt to pull the canister and check valve if you have no HVAC system. but this y-fitting your talking about going into the tranny tunnel is got me wondering where it could go to.?

do you know what i mean about the y vacuum pipe??? it comes off of the check valve(bout 6 inches from it), it is the vacuum line that goes towards the back of motor/intake, for lack of a better description. i would guess it goes either to the fuel tank or cannister? just an unedumacated guess :D

also of topic....do you think i really need to keep the vented lines to the opti? hell unvented optis do just fine, and the car is driven alot, but mostly in good weather. the more crap i can do away with the better :)

thanks alot for the links!!!!!!!! they rock!

try to track that thang down as far as you can.

mine came from the check valve 1 to the inside of car 1 to the vac canister below car by the horns and the 3rd one went into the harness and came out and hooked up to the intake right by the one for the FPR

:D not so much weight just 2 less lines in that area, i already have all the nitrous wiring and msd wiring running in that vicinity is all. and with the Hogan intake going on, well the less in the way the better :p

thanks for all the help. i will trace that line later this week and post back, not going outside now, lol! time for bed!

g'nite!
