(SFCs in general) 1stls1 12-04-2004, 10:42 PM Can you install these on the ground, or does the car need to be in the air? Is it poss to install wrong, meaning, the car on being straight? Frank89IROC 12-04-2004, 11:27 PM Can you install these on the ground, or does the car need to be in the air? Is it poss to install wrong, meaning, the car on being straight? I installed Jegsters bolt on(from JEGS), in my driveway. I did jack up one side of the car that I was working on with jack stands. They can only go on correctly. If you try to place them wrong, it just won't line up. (On my 94TA). lbrowne 12-04-2004, 11:55 PM Can you install these on the ground, or does the car need to be in the air? Is it poss to install wrong, meaning, the car on being straight? For SFCs to be installed correctly, the car neesd to be under load. Meaning under its own weight on a level surface. A lift in a shop is perfect :) 1stls1 12-05-2004, 08:35 AM By a lift, you are talking about a drive-on lift. With the bolt on, are they just bolt on like it says, or do you have to remove something and "share" the hole? 87DJP2001 12-05-2004, 09:03 AM If you are going to get SFC's have them welded on. Bolt on ones are a waste of money in my opinion. lbrowne 12-05-2004, 12:14 PM If you are going to get SFC's have them welded on. Bolt on ones are a waste of money in my opinion. I have bolt ons and I love them. The difference in the car is night and day. Also by lift yet thats hwat I mean, a drive on one. :) KPZ-28 12-05-2004, 12:41 PM Sorry about the hijack, but did your bolt on connectors eliminate any dash squeaking or is it better to weld them on? 87DJP2001 12-05-2004, 12:56 PM I have bolt ons and I love them. The difference in the car is night and day. Also by lift yet thats hwat I mean, a drive on one. :) You may love those bolt on SFC's now, but given time they will start getting loose. And then you will have the same flex  as before. JoeliusZ28 12-05-2004, 02:31 PM ive got pics in my cardomain if you want em (page two of sig) - kenny brown double diamond weld ins Super Slow '97 12-05-2004, 05:52 PM Can't you buy some bolt on sfc's and then just have them welded or are they different? lbrowne 12-05-2004, 05:58 PM Can't you buy some bolt on sfc's and then just have them welded or are they different? You can weld your bolt ons on :), many have done it. Frank89IROC 12-05-2004, 06:39 PM If you are going to get SFC's have them welded on. Bolt on ones are a waste of money in my opinion. I have the Jegster bolt on sub frame connectors, After installing them myself, I went to a muffler shop, had them welded for $20.00. You'll notice the car will be much stiffer on bumps. | ||
