Jsut wanna do some test in the range from 85-100 mph... (trying out some tests if its worht it to **** at teh track or not.

where do you guys reccomend, I wanna do a few back to back runs, I am weary of the highways, I like to do it out to avalon but lots of cops out there and I am always worried an animal will pop out.

Decent place where I can speed up and slow down a few times in the 85-100 mph area, just wanna try some stuff out before I hit up the track.

thanks.

If I had to choose a place to do such an act, it would be in front of 2 FHP Z28's going ~155 MPH right before the Jesup Bridge on 417

After I put the headers on, I was laying the hammer down by avalon park on alafaya almost ever day. Thats my testing ground.

Well when me and my friends play around we go to university 85-100 is really not going to be going that fast when you think about it. Or when we wanna run we go get loose on 417 going torwards lake mary

ehh... no thanks... I prefer a less populated area, mainly by the fact that cops are in populated areas, and not looking for a doubling the speed limit ticket....

Why is that so hard to imagine? There was a time when I couldn't imagine doing any part of University under 100mph.

I coudl see dong 100 on it, late at night, but not a great road to do it on though, there are lots of cops around, little harder to detect radar since my detector picks up that radar thing n front of that private school for like a mile in east and west of it.

I just did a 408-417 north-I4 West-408 East... Route, lot of cops on I4 though.

did what I wanted to see, I think I am going to ignore what people say and try shifting into 4th down the 1/4.

Woudln't make a difference...

There is a street sign that broadcasts radar 24/7, it only displays your speed during certain times of the day but it broadcasts radar 24/7. Its near University and dean and I pick it upt at ~University and alafaya.

Valentine 1 is a nice detector(my dad has it in the vette) but its not smart enough to differentiate a signpost broadcasting radar form an actual cop with a radar gun.

With every moron that sees the sign slamming on their brakes, I would still want to know that in advance as well. ;)

Eric, this is why I love it out here. The Sebring Racetrack is in my back yard, I can test and tune about any time the mood stikes me. Funny thing is I remember back when the area around you guys was so desolate, that was one of my proving grounds. ;)

Yeah my Valentine picks up the signal sometimes all the way to Goldenrod but it also tells you the number of signals detected. It's very easy to tell the difference in a new signal.

If it broadcasts radar 24/7, that's Bogie #1. It doesn't matter which supported band they are using. So as long as the counter stays at 1, then you have no worries. Unless they turn it off and it's a real cop

ehh not looking to spend the money on a V1, its nice but rather spend money on other things.. I rarely ever get the top of the line thing, and always happy with my stuff :)

anyways, beyond cops 100ish on Univeristy isn't a great idea, I had a roomate, 1 friend, an f-body guy all total their cars at different times on university from dean to alafaya. I have been run into the curb from someone changing lanes and not looking. Its not as bad as 50, but I'd rather just drive on over to Curry Ford if I want a more open road like that.

I am just being paranoid, I know my luck of not having a ticket go through and be processed is gonna run up(I have gotten ~7 warnings, and 2 tickets that for some reason disapeared off my record(never signed up for school or went to school in the last 2 years) So how my record usually goes, I am overdo to get another one :)

"Not that fast when you think about"?! You're such an ignorant fool. I sincerely hope someone takes your car or you crash it before you kill yourself, you idiot.

Seeing as how he has a Camaro SS, I highly doubt he's mad for that reason. He's mad because you're a braindead fool who thinks that doing triple digits on a public street through the middle of a fairly well populated urban center is acceptable.

You people talk like 100mph is fast. Most of the cars on this site can go from 55mph to 100mph in a matter of seconds. If it's quick bursts then as long as you're not on a road with more than very very mild traffic, just do the bursts really quick (after glancing around for cops of course) and then drop back down.

Personally I think the 417 is your best bet - average traveling speed on that road is around 80mph anyway, so just bump it up to 100 a few times and voila.

After blown02SS's last thread I don't know why anyone owuld expect anything less of him. He's the typical 18 yr old with a fast car that think's he's invincable. It's just sad that he will probably end up hurting someone else before he realises that he's not.

As far as doing 100mph blasts, head out to Geneva. Take 426(aloma) all the way out past oviedo and you'll get some really long straight roads you can test on. That's where I did my few 160mph runs, though i wouldn't recommend going that fast out there. There are a few animals out there, but most are smart enough to stay away from the road :)

state road 46 is good for this.

ditches on both sides, with water, and wetlands, and its perfectly straight for quite a few miles.

not a good chance of animals and such getting in your way and no one is on that road very late at night.

one night i had cruise set on about 105 or 110 for a few minuites comming home and didn't see a single person the whole time.

this is however where a bird hit my windshield while i was going 95mph at about 2am!

ha yeah i was going to suggest that..but i didn't think you'd wanna drive out that way, but if you're every going to 95 later at night, that road is really dead..you'd prolly see one or 2 cars the whole way...i actually got up to 100 in my kia..oooooooo..it was scary though, lol
