pac swi, where to mount IR transmitter?

I can't decide a good place to mount it, that it will still get a good signal to the radio. Any ideas/pictures?

Mine is just below the HU in the photo. I replaced the tiny 3mm IR LED with a 5mm wide angle IR LED.

ok, so you actually drilled a hole in the interface plate. That is what I didn't really want to do. Thank you very much though.
