hey guys i need some help to find a home for a cat that appeared on my doorstep a week ago and won't leave. i'll post pictures up tomorrow but until then i'll give you quick description.

the vet ran tests on the cat and said it's a male although you can't tell... he appears to be 3 years old and has been declawed. this cat is amazing, having a few of our own right now he is so well behaved and house trained which is a plus. extremely playful and engergetic i just have to find him a home somehow. the cat is very healthy and checks out well on all of their tests. he just needs a good home to someone who will love him. i already have a few cats as well as two dogs which just won't put up with the new animal so i have to find him a home. if anyone is looking for a good behaving cat please let me know. with the cold winter months i won't let him sleep outside and i don't want the vet to put him to sleep. unfortunatley my rott doesn't share my compassion.

You're a good guy Jeff going thru all that trouble with a stray. I'd do the same thing but a lot of people wouldn't have :( I wish I could help u but I got 2 dogs and a cat and my pitbull has a tendency to scare cats for some reason :D

yeah i wish i didn't have my rott because this cat is so great..... i just can't seem to make things work and i'm worried about him hurting the cat. this cat obviously was loved and cared by someone as it's a very clean, very housebroken animal. the first night i found it i took it in.. let it out in the morning and didn't see it for a day. found it in my backyard sleeping under my deck to keep warm.

just wish i knew how to find him a home.... thanks for looking guys.

i'm sorry i thought i posted answers to most of the questions in my reply...

yes he has been neutered. aparently he is a house cat whom seems to be very well manored and has a clean bill of health from the vet. i will have pictures up tonight when i get them back. as far as color he is a "taby" excuse the spelling..

Will he ride in a car?
Has he ever sprayed or sh!t inside your house?

Sorry to be so particular, but I have a problem with some of the negatives of cats. My spouse and kids would love one, I just can't imagine dealing with a "problem" cat. He sounds cool, though.

PS: Grey tabby, brown tabby, orange tabby?
Does he purr (some don't you know)

If you can't find a home through here, try Silver Lake Rescue or Top Dog Rescue, they are both very great rescue groups that sometimes can take cats to adopt out. When I worked at PETsMART those were the two groups we leased cages to in PETsMART, and they did a great job of adopting cats out.

the photos i took aparently didn't work out to well on the disposable...i just dropped off a new set out of my 35mm which i hope to pick up tonight. it's more of a grey, brown and black color.... looks like a tiger i suppose would be best to describe. the cat does purr. to be honest i really want to keep the cat it's that great.... i'm trying to break him in with my rottweiler as i could care less how my other cats deal with him.

hopefully i'll have pictures up tonight, thankyou for the suggestions on the foundations.

thanks.... just trying to give him a fighting chance. i appreciate the kind words.

here is a link to a picture of him and another thread i started at motown. its very important for me to find this little guy a home but it must be with someone that will take care of him. i found a few houses that would take him but they will ask $200 for him if anyone comes to get him which isn't right.... they also put them to sleep after a month which i can't see.

so if anyone wants a great looking, healthy and well manored cat this is definately one for you but it must go to a good home. i paid for the vet tests and the rest just to make sure he his healthy. i am not asking for any money so if anyone can give him a good home he's free.

please put the word out...

Upon consultation with my wife and son, we'd like to be first in line to give him a good home. All contingent upon him being a good rider in the car (in a carrier is OK).

Hey Jeff,
Does that cat have a scar on his neck? That looks like the stray that showed up on my porch one day last spring. I took him in. He liked to go in and out then one day i get home from work and he had a hole in the back of his neck that was all infected it was not there the day before. It looked like someone shot him with a pellet gun or some thing. I had to take him into the humane sociaty cuz i knew they would do what was best for him. He was a cool cat very friendly, well behaved. If i had room id take him from you and that dog in the other post but i have my 2 dogs, the old ladies mutt and her cat. Steven

no marks, scars or otherwise...

i've only taken him in a carrier so i'm not sure what you mean by travel safe? do you plan on taking him somewhere or driving him around alot? he was good with me but it was only one trip.

Have you tried putting him on PetFinder.org? I'm not sure if regular people can put animals on there or if just shelters can... If you have to be a shelter, let me know, because I work with one. (They are soooo full up on cats right now but we could put this kitty on PetFinder while you foster him.)

LOL!!! Did you ever hear the joke about the Indian, the talking horse and the talking sheep? The punch line is, "Sheep lie!"??? Well, HInk lie!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonite is the cat's first night at RRRR's house. He's a very cool cat. He's just prowling all over the place checking it out. He's figured out the cat box (thank god) but the food bowl still seems to be a mystery. I think he's too excited to think about eating just yet.

It was real nice of you, Rod, not to make me rassle you for the cat.

And thanks, Jeff, for working so hard to find the cat a home. You are a real gentleman and good guy!
