What can I do to add power to my Camaro?

What can I do to add power to my Camaro? Christmas is coming up, so I'd like some ideas. It is all stock except a Flowmaster exhaust (not sure what model, was already on the car when I bought it). Mainly I would like some more "get-up-and-go" power, so I can lay down some skid marks a little easier. It's an automatic if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Ditch the K&N filter for an actual aftermarket intake.

I was planning on getting a cold air intake, but I can't find one for a 3rd gen Camaro, only the 4th.

Upgrade your gears. Unless you have the 3800 GT Performance & Handling package.

I don't think it has that package, approx. how much would it cost to upgrade them?

My cardomain site (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/513476/2) has all my stuff that I will use to make my car faster.
No pics of "look how shiny my car is" junk.
All about the engine, making more power and having it last.

I like your security system. ;)

After the intake, would a turbo be my best option for more power? I don't was N2O because it's illegal to use on the street, and I don't want to have to pay to fill up the tanks.

Also, is your car a manual or an auto?

hehe I like the 4th gen suggestions for yoru 3rd gen...

Quick thing I did on my '85 that helped a little especially on the high way. Ram air. Yoru air box has 2 filters. I cut the bottoms out, hooked up 2 square to circle AC ducting things, then ran AC ducting hose from those through the bumper support(has holes in it) and into the grill. Gave it a little get up and go when you were actually going down the road.

But I cannot remember if newer cars hd a different setup or not.

IF you look closely in a pic of my old car

you can vaguely see the chrome circles in the grill, of where the ducts are.

I thought of that, I'm installing a Z28 grill with the fog lights so I will be able to do a ram air thing if I can find all the parts.

The same things that will help ANY car be quicker. More air in and more air out. If you don't have emissions then ditch the cats and go with a less restrictive exhaust. Get some more air in by doing a cold-air intake setup (I'm not really familiar with the '91 V6 so I can't be more specific). Also, since you have an auto, a stall converter will help your car a LOT. It was the best feeling mod I did to my '98 Z  stall! I think a good stall for your 700r4 would be a 2800. You can find them on Ebay for around $150. Good luck!

I do have emissions since it's a 91, so I can't do that. What exactly is a 700r4?

Its the name of the transmission in 3rd gen autos...

but like said, mod are similar form car to car. Mods that help get air in and out of the motor work great.

Also might want to consider gears, if you change the rear end geas it will help you accelerate faster, but might affect your gas mileage, especially in a car with an auto.

I have a T-5, 10 bolt rear with stock 3.42 gears and a zexal torsen diff with the 26 spline axels needed for the convert.
I was looking at geting a 9.25'' s-10 clutch kit to put the power to the ground.

The engine alone cost more than I paid for the whole car! Then I'd have to get a new rear end and drive train to boot! :D Maybe a project for the future. Stuff a 500+ HP Chevy crate motor in there. hehehe
