ported or not ported

i have a jl w7 12" with a jl 1000/1 and i wanted to know if it should be a ported or non ported box for the z.

A sealed enclosure usually works and sounds the best. It takes up less room and is more forgiving if it isn't exactly the right size. Ported enclosures tend to be larger and need to be properly tuned for them to sound their best.
