Do springs wear out with age?

Do springs wear out with age?

Like it says do they soften or anythign as they age or miles are put on them?

They can tend to sag a little. As far as wear out, hmmm, I think it will take a long time for that.

Depends if the car supensions been abused. Otherwise they do not wear out with age.

reason I asked is because im going to unlower my car and get some stock springs, if they do wear out or sag like you said then I would just get some from slp for 25 bucks rather than ebay a set of stockers for prolly not much less... Thanks guys.

Yes, springs can lose their rate as they are used. In my circle track racing, we take springs out periodically and rate them on a tester. They do go away. On a street car though this will take much longer than a racecar.

They carry a suspension package which includes 4 springs, 4 shocks, and a front 32mm hollow swaybar for $199. If you don't need/want the swaybar or shocks, maybe they'll sell you just the springs at a good price?
