Local Race fuel options... (East Orlando)

Just curious what are the options?

I know there is the track, and that one gas station with the Dominos built into it right before the track...

Any others and anyone know what the places I listed carry?

hmm... $5.00 a gallon of 100 octane sensor safe fuel... any better deals.

Also any problems with keeping 100 octane fuel in a 5 gallon container for an extended period of time?

I mix my own. Buy gallon containers of Xylene at any paint supply house, mix no more than 25% per tank and add one ounce of marvel mystery oil per gallon of Xylene. This mix added to pump 93 gives you an honest 100 octane.

Theres a station on Hwy 50 in between Dean Rd and the 417 on the south side that advertises race gas. I've never bought any there though, I always get mine from the one about a mile west of the track on 50.

Sure.......

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc...explained.html

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/Octanemix.html

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/octanebooster.html

These three links should give you all that you need to know. I've done this for years with great results. Especially when you aren't at the mercy of a gas station.

Don't use aviation fuel. 100 octane, but it has a high lead content. Will kill your O2 sensor and cats in one tank....

Yeah I know to be weary of high lead content gas, but there is stuff out there that is CAT and sensor safe...

-I jsut have thoughts of running a as high as a 125 shot on stock timing, and just looking into my option and if I shoudl keep my eye out for a MAFT+ for sale on the boards

btw thanks Joe, you are both a gentleman and a scholar.

I'm not sure you want to do that. When you start reaching 50% boost, the cylinder pressure is going to be pretty high. IMHO, don't go over 100 unless a few internal mods have been done. Yes there are examples of people that have done it, but the path to their success didn't come cheap. Usually it came in the way of broken parts with a lesson learned.

I think its kind of high too... but there have been several peopel that have done it and even soem as high as 150 shots.

I think maybe I will just keep an eye out for a MAFT+ and see if I can catch a deal. So I can retard the timing a bit.

A much safer move. Besides, often times the average power is increased with a little less timing.
