Is this everything for LS1 brake conversion? (pic)Indy93Z28 10-27-2004, 03:53 PM Just as the title says, do I have everything I need to convert to LS1 front brakes? http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_img_a/483910_42_full.jpg RE AND CHERYL 10-28-2004, 10:53 AM Looks like it, with a little modification you can use the LT1 hoses. What pads are you using??? Z95m6 10-28-2004, 12:25 PM It looks like you are missing the caliper mounting bracket. Here you can see it in one of rlax31's pics. http://www.radford.edu/~rvandenhe/Pictures/Brakes/pages/new%20rotor%20and%20caliper%20bracket%202.html. I've heard you can make the LT1 brake lines work but i've never done it. I reused the stock LS1 lines. Mike94ZLT1 10-28-2004, 12:28 PM On my 95 I reused my LT1 lines, I made 2 brackets about an inch and a half long, and unbolted the line from the frame and used the bracket to hold the line out. Worked perfectly. Bryan Smith 10-28-2004, 12:57 PM I see knuckles, calipers, mounting brackets, rotors. Where's the pads? hehe. Indy93Z28 10-28-2004, 01:45 PM I'll prob get stainless lines and I already got some hawk pads. I just wanted to make sure I had all the LS1 parts I need. Where can I get that caliper mounting bracket? Indy93Z28 10-28-2004, 01:51 PM Someone told me I am missing the LS1 spindles and I have to have them. Is this correct? Z95m6 10-28-2004, 03:57 PM It looks like you have the right spindles/knuckles. Here is a pic another one of rlax31's. You should look at his pics. http://www.radford.edu/~rvandenhe/Pictures/Brakes/pages/LS1%20vs%20LT1%20knuckles.html As for the caliper mount i would try ebay or a salvage yard. RE AND CHERYL 10-28-2004, 10:33 PM You have the caliper mount bracket, it's the cage that the caliper mounts to and it holds the pads in place. The back of it has two mounting lugs that bolt to the spindle. I recently installed powerslot rotors front and rear with hawk pads and upgraded to C5 13" rotors up front and braided brake lines on all four corners. OH MY GOD!!! The car practically stops before you hit the pedal. HUGE difference. Z95m6 10-28-2004, 11:40 PM I was wrong it does look like you have the caliper mount bracket. Your is just so dirty i blends in. Bryan Smith 10-28-2004, 11:43 PM I was wrong it does look like you have the caliper mount bracket. Your is just so dirty i blends in. His aren't dirty. How can you not see those. lol. Z95m6 10-29-2004, 01:35 AM His aren't dirty. How can you not see those. lol. I guess because i'm use to looking at clean painted ones like these. http://www.radford.edu/~rvandenhe/Pictures/Brakes/pages/new%20brake%20setup.html or mine which the mount is painted black and the caliper is red. I would post a pic but you can't really see them to well in the ZO6's. Indy93Z28 11-01-2004, 01:16 AM You're missing hubs, unless you are re-using your old ones. Yeah gonna use my LT1 hubs rlax31 11-01-2004, 09:16 AM missing a case of beer. looks like you've got the parts, but i'd suggest a gear puller to get the old knuckles off safely jz3082 11-07-2004, 10:24 AM I am putting the LS1 brakes on my 94z today and was wondering if the proportioning valve is different and needs to be changed out or if its the same for all the f body cars? Bryan Smith 11-07-2004, 11:07 AM I am putting the LS1 brakes on my 94z today and was wondering if the proportioning valve is different and needs to be changed out or if its the same for all the f body cars? You mean master cylinder? We dont have prop valves from the factory. Master cylinder's are the same. | ||
