Hey guys, its been a while since I've posted here, but I need some help, and I hope you guys are up to it.

My dad used to own a 1968 Camaro, which he sold in the Spring of 1984, in Savannah Georgia. This December, he will turn 50, and my mom and I are hoping to find his car and purchase it for him.

We have a friend who is a US Marshall, so all we need is the V.I.N. That's where we stuck; we called the insurance company, but they only keep records for 10 years, and we tried calling the DMV in Savannah, but they only keep records for 10 years.

So if anyone has any suggestions or connections, please let me know. Help us make an old man (but don't tell him I said that :D ) happy. Thanks!

Chris

Man, that's going to be tough to say the least! A lot could have happened to that car in 20 years. I would start with trying to track down the person he sold it to. Maybe someone turned it into a drag car along the way. Check with Savannah Dragway and the car clubs in the area. Good luck.

Don't be forget to go the opposite direction too. Where did the car come from? Work backwards and try to track down the original/previous owner. Maybe GM can help? If you can find who the original owner was you maybe you can get the VIN from them.
