I have a 97 lt1 TA 6 speed. I run 11.61 @ 119.5 and a 1.64 60'. This was on ET Streets. The weird thing is that I don't have a single suspension upgrade on it. The car is stock when it comes to suspension. I don't have subframes, LCA's, or anything. Do you think I could run a better time with any suspension upgrades even though my 60' is decent? I can really feel the car flex every time at the track. Thanks for your help.

That's an impressive 60' with just tires.

I would put SFC's first, then LCA's cause they are cheap and you will feel the difference. If you have $400, get a TA that mounts to a xmember. Like the BMR trac pac.

 

SFC's and LCAs will help a lot in the flex/launch/rear breakage

 

Will SFC's and LCAs really help my rear end not to break as easily? I heard that if your car has a lot of flex, you loose power? I think I had a good 60' because I launched the car on a 150 shot

 

SFC's will cut down on flex= harder launch
LCA's will give you more weight transfer=better traction=harder launch
harder launch= more unhealthy for the rear

 

Yeah, I would say unhealthy for a 10 bolt, but a LT1 is also unhealthy for a rear end

Less flex in the LCA and stiffer bushings, help traction alot. SFC's keep the car from flexing and energy being dissolved in the chasis.

 

For how long have you had that 10 bolt 4:10 gears and et streets?
It is very impresive that you rear is still holding. Are those et streets bolt to your stock rims?

I have only had this ring and pinion for about 2 weeks. I cut 1.6's on my first set of 4.10's and they didn't break at the track, but somehow I wore groves in the ring and pinion? So they whined so loud you couldn't here the radio on full blast I have the et streets on some stock 16 inch TA wheels. I am also surprised I haven't broke any teeth off my ring and pinion. I also have the autozone lifetime guaranteed clutch and it is holding

 

so what kind of gains would somebody with no suspension mods see after sfc and lca's? are they really worth the money?

Sub frame connectors....there and many kind. box tube , round tube (usually yeilds more clearance). Bolt in , weld in Some are diamond shaped and some are just a bar as you can see.

 

That's like asking if traction will help and is traction worth the money.
