Well, I can not for the life of me figure out WTH I need to plug the hole where to IAT goes in my vortec elbow (mine is relocated to air filter). I called Vortec twice and twice they sounded like they didnt even make the thing and gave me totally wrong sizes (3/4 inch and 1/2 inch which is way too big).

Anyway, I have bought a plumbing 3/8" plug from Home depot which is a little too big but threads and seals and is what I have in there now looking like a POS :(

I have bought 1/4"(too small) and 3/8"(too big) plugs from pepboys.

I have bought a tons of botls of various sizes from home depot, the closest being a 12MM which was just barely too big, went in a few threads and stopped. I did not see 11MM at home depot only 10 and I have a feeling 11 would be too small.

Anyone remember or can check the size of whatever they threaded into their elbow? It is really annoying me now, have searched forums far and wide and I remembered seeing someone say an NPT fitting or something fit but I could never find the thread :( :( THANKS for any help, really frustrating  .

Why don't you take the elbow IN the store with you and find a matching plug instead of guessing. I know, I do the same thing as you all the time, but I also know this saves time and gas going back and forth. :D

Good idea, guess I could take it off right there and bring the damn thing in. Only problem is that most of the stuff I bought was in plastic or packaging preventing me from even trying it :(

I measure across the hole to the threads and past the threads and bought everything that almost matches the measurements, still nothing :(

take it to a local mom and pop type hardware store and ask for help, they will have no troble helping, and if the plugs are sealed, they will most likely open them to check

Home depot and the likes dont care if you open the packages either, just place the opened parts back in the bags, and back into the bins. No biggie. I have had store employees do that many of times helping me find stuff.

Heres the problem, metric or standard, or maybe NPT. Check the plumbing section for NPT stuff. If you havent found a NPT or standard bolt to fit it, its likely metric then. Tried NAPA or a good parts store? Their nuts/bolts bins are impressive.

Dude, it's Home Depot! Take the fitting out of the package and check it out before you buy. They aren't going to cry about that. :)
