Ok, for those that are going to make this. Try and get there early and when you get to the gates, tell them you are with Fbodyowners.com because we are getting our own entry cards. Also up for grabs are 2 trophys. "Fastest LS1" and "Fastest LT1".

Just to reiterate:
$25 entry fee to run your car all day.
$10 to spectate
And for those with youngin's, 12 and under are free if I do remember correctly.

Let's see a bunch of you guys make it to Byron on the 24th and give us a good Fbody turnout!

Edit: Also the gates open at 8 and racing goes from 10-6!

Re: Fbodyowners.com Track Day Oct. 24th

A few of us on the Chicagoland email list were planning on making it down there on the 23rd. I believe the 24th is the rain date though. Not sure if I'll be able to make it or not on either day

How many people do you expect to show up? Maybe I should persuade the group to go on the 24th.

Not sure as to how many people are confirmed. I know there are 3 just from my town alone. If a lot of the guys can get their cars back together, easily 10 people. I'm posting it on several boards in hopes to get more people.

Also, as far as the weather is looking so far, the 24th will be partly cloudy with 0% chance of rain and in the 50s. *knock on wood* I'm hoping anyway! Hope to see you there man, especially if you can convince a lot of people to join.

Re: Fbodyowners.com Track Day Oct. 24th

Does it matter that I am not part of the Fbodyowners club? What exactly is the Fbodyowners club? When I look at the site, it looks like its mainly owners in the Illinois/Indiana area. Is the track hard to find? If I go, once i get to the track, is there somewhere specific that I should go (tech inspection, parking area)?

I moved to Illinois this mast May and am still not very familiar with locations. I also have only been to a dragstrip once.

I have wanted to go to a track all summer, but never felt like going to Route 66 Raceway after work on Tuesday nights.

You are more than welcome to come out and join us. Fbodyowners.com is a free message board for all Fbody and enthusiests. It is made up of people mostly from IL and IN, but there are several members from out of state as well. All are welcome.

Byron is pretty easy to get to. You'll want to take I80 West to I39 North. Take the exit for I72, and go right at the stop sign. From there, it's about 13 or 14 miles, and the track is on the left.

Exit 111 on I-39 North just so you know. You are definitely more than welcome to join. Anyone is.

The last possible count was around 21 cars.

Remember to tell the guys at the gate you are with Fbodyowners.com to those who are gonna make it.

Also, when a majority of the people are there, I will be going around the pits getting interest on a bracket race. A few of the members want a bracket race, if enough interest is gained, I will go up to the tower and talk to the guys and see what can happen.

Re: Fbodyowners.com Track Day Oct. 24th

That track is absolutely insane, I've never experienced that kind of traction before. I did manage to get a second run later today. I still bogged after dumping the clutch at 4k rpm

My best run was only a 12.505 Give me some time at that track when there aren't so many people there and I'll hit a 12.3!

All in all it was great to experience such a nice track but really frustrating with all of the people.

Honestly, where the hell'd you go? Also, are you on Fbodyowners.com? If I remember right, the guy at the gate asked if you were with us and you just kinda hopped in(if not, correct me). Which was fine. Perhaps I should have mentioned the trophy was more than likely going to go to members only. I tell ya what man, when we do a track day in the spring, I'll try and get more trophys and such. It might bump up the entry fee a tad, or maybe I'll pay for it outta my own pocket and I'll try and get a few more classes or something. You definitely got a high trapping beast there and I'd love to send you home with a trophy. I hope you don't take the first part of this reply as me being an *******. You would've definitely went home with a trophy if you were a member and if I coulda found you after our 2nd run. No one knew where you went. Now I feel bad because I had no idea you ran that time.

Buttercup - It feels weird calling you that in person, but it added some humor to that wicked 2 hour wait in the lanes. I keep trying to tell people that Byron is known as "The House of Hook". It's named that for a reason. I never saw you click off your 12.5 The only pass I saw was I believe a 13.78 or something like that. Congrats on getting that time. I wish my car would've ran better.

I wasn't the Buttercup you were expecting?

Hey now, don't take away ALL my dignity. You trying to call BS? My first pass was bad, but not that bad. I think it was a 13.038 I severely underestimated the traction "problem"

I'm not sure what's more impressive, the fact that the track hooked hard enough to severely bog my car or the fact that my stock clutch hooked hard enough to do it

Had I had more time I was going to try a 4500 RPM dump and powershifting to get into the low 12's or at least grenade the 10-bolt
