Im about to put an LS1 center console in my 1995 Z28. I was wondering how some of you filled the space between the console and the bottom of the radio bezel. At some point I'd like to completely swap my LT1 dash out for an LS1 dash, but for now I'm looking at what I can fill the space with.

I'm gonna mold a dual gauge pod to the bottom of my radio bezel to fill that space up

Currently I have a large fluffy black snow hat shoved in there, it fills in the space and hides all the wires and it's not that noticable. My ultimate plan, though, is to finish working on a comp I have and then mold the 10.5" touchscreen panel into the LT1 radio bezel, which would lengthen the bezel down to the LS1 console.

I know several have used this piece from a Mustang.

Hey did anybody do the swap that had traction control, if so what did you do with the switch?

I also have a question. I switched in an LS1 T/A console in my 95 T/A, and the only thing that didnt match up was the Cigarette Lighter Connection. Does anyone know of an adapter I can use?
Thanks

i have wanted to do the console swap and mold a piece to house a police scanner and a cb maybe (maybe not on the cb), is this my southern influence trying to escape? i think it would be cool.

Why not just use you old cig lighter base?

No room.
The newer console goes down and sits higher "underneath" where the old cigarette lighter base/cassette holder would be.

No I mean since the plug won't work with his cig lighter that he should get the old cig lighter out and swap em so the plug will work.
I already have my idea for the space filler as you can see above :D

(My first post on this thread)Where's the head smacking smiley when you need it? :D
Well - you could do that - but then you still have to make the other accessory plug work (if you want it too). Might as well just go through the trouble there instead of removing/replacing I guess.

Well since we got that straight! :D
I just used 2 female spade connectors and some similar gauge wire spliced into the pre-existing cig wires.
