hey actually them numbers arent bad compared to my first time out. actually they par right up to mine. if u search this site some u could find my exact numbers but they were somthing like this.
14.7 qtr @ 95 mph and that was my best run of the night. with a 2.2xx 60 ft. the firs things i did to the car were a cai, replaced fuel filter, and gave it an oil change. and my times went from that to 14.4 @ 97 mph with the same 60 foot. and about the same weather conditions. gl with ur car

I just ran my car today for the first time, and it has been a long time since i been down a track and never in a manula trans car. The car is a 1993 Camaro Z28 / 6speed BONE STOCK with 48,000 miles, and street tires.

best run was:

r/t .706 ( i was not paying very good attention)
60' 2.225
330 5.944
1/8 9.069
MPH 136.03
1000 11.751
1/4 14.035
MPH 98.77

It was at Englishtown NJ durning SLP day. I dunno why the 1/8th MPH is so high, and how the heck i didnt hit a 13.8. I think i tapped the brake when shifting. My second run was horrible, with out the details i went a 15.5@97.5. I spun the tires the whole first 60 feet. When are good shift points for a car like this?

i shift when it redlines, these car's pull right up to redline, considering u have a stock rev limiter

Something is definitley wrong with your 1/8th mph, the sensor was most likely screwed up.

i think ot was, i just noticed on the other time slip where i was in the other lane that the guy next to me ran 248 mph @ 1/18th.. LOL
Mark, i see you have a 93 in the 12's woth bolt ons, what kind if ya dont mind me asking? I wanna keep my car as stock appearing as possible, but low 13's would be nice. I am looking for suggestions on cheap, easy go fast pieces..

Thanks

My car ran 14.4-14.5 @ 94-95 mph all stock. I must have gone round a dozzen times that day.

Good tires are probably the single best bolt on et improver.

No I cant tell you its top secret :p

Just kidding, mods consist of

FLP trans w/ Vig2800
3.73 gears
alum DS
3" catback w/ cutout
highflow 3" cat
hooker y-pipe(i think)
cai
ud pulley
ghetto ramair mod

I ran those times on BFG DR's and skinnies up front otherwise full weight. I think you need to get a really good launch to take full advantage of the converter. I ran this past weekend and only got a 12.9x @ 104.xx on a 1.80 60', I also didnt have skinnies this time. I couldnt launch the car very hard so my times suffered a bit. Oh and the best mod is by far the converter but I wouldnt call it cheap at $700+install and youll need a shift kit and trans cooler

Just for reference, my best run the first time out was 14.4@98 in 87 degree, 80% humidity. I'm a M6, and the only mod was a CAI. My best 60' was 2.25. I was full weight, plus about 50 lbs of stereo equipment.

I would say your numbers are fine for the first time out.
