JoeliusZ28 10-08-2004, 10:13 PM Primer + stripes..... ^^^ MikeRock 10-09-2004, 01:11 AM How many rusty pickup trucks do you have on cinderblocks in your front yard? zero, how many teeth are you missing? 6Speed 10-09-2004, 05:27 AM Primer black, the only color for a 67. :) firebirdjosh 10-09-2004, 08:47 AM zero, how many teeth are you missing? I don't know if you are implying that I'd some redneck or that you are going to fight me, but you are even more retarded than I thought apparently. meissenation 10-09-2004, 02:53 PM I think the car looks incredible -- tons of respect for painting it yourself. A first gen looks meanest when it's flat black, and those hockey stripes are outrageously eye catching. Lookin sharp, lookin sharp! MikeRock 10-09-2004, 03:36 PM I don't know if you are implying that I'd some redneck or that you are going to fight me, but you are even more retarded than I thought apparently. It was a little A and a little B, either way my car would crush both of yours. Gord 10-09-2004, 07:54 PM haha firebirdjosh maybe you should just leave this thread :D To the thread starter, I've checked out your car twice now and it's just so beautiful, I want one  ZZZZZZZIP28 10-09-2004, 08:34 PM 15 cans of black primer one can of yellow paint dollar tree masking tape getting drunk one afternoon and painting.... priceless. 97BBlackZ 10-09-2004, 08:43 PM haha firebirdjosh maybe you should just leave this thread :D To the thread starter, I've checked out your car twice now and it's just so beautiful, I want one  i agree MikeRock 10-09-2004, 09:05 PM well it was only 10 cans of primer balck, and you were right on the yellow, but no drinking.... Man you think people would have more respect for someone that owns a first gen and paints and works on it all his own?? even if it is a rattle can job, if i had a compressor i would have done it the "real" way. but i don't. thanks to those who like it at least. meissenation 10-10-2004, 03:05 PM What you'll come to know is that Cz28 is the most conservative board out of all the F-Body communities around. If you do something custom -- chances are the general population of this board won't like it, it's just somethin you're probably already noticing. Normally, if you DO do something custom, post them on the more laid back forums and you'll get the props you deserve. In any case, like I've said before, I know how hard it is to make a spray can paint job look good, as I tried doing the front nose of my car when I fixed some spiderweb cracks, and it came out horribly, so I got mad props for how good yours turned out. RMC 10-11-2004, 01:02 PM If you do something custom -- chances are the general population of this board won't like it, it's just somethin you're probably already noticing. Amateur and sketchy is not the same thing as custom! People here are just calling out what it is. However, I applaud the poster for the effort at learning and improving their skill and car..but, technique and finish needs improvement. Next attempt I would advise cutting a poster board pattern and tracing it onto a sticky paper directly on the car then cutting out the design as well as covering up the rest of the car a little better to avoid overspray on the hood. I noticed some wavy edges where the pattern wasn't very straight and saw the overspray you mentioned. The primer wasn't sanded all that smooth either. The edges of the hood and fender are a little rough too and could use some bodywork. Still I think trying to do it all on your own is pretty cool and is the only way you'll really learn. I completly agree with you. Lt1 and Ls1 10-11-2004, 05:42 PM Yes this board is full of buttheads. Car looks great:) Ignore the idiots and take compliments from the rest:D | ||
