KILLED a 91 5.SLOW

Its a 91 LX. AOD, only mods are Mac Headers, Mac H-Pipe, and 40 series's ... I think he might have a K&N Filter but definatly DOESNT have a CAI. So thats not even really worth mentioning. 80K miles.

Mine is a 95 Z28, M6, Long Tubes, ORY, Flowmaster, CAI. 14,000 origional miles :D

This kid has been tlaking **** for a LONG LONG time ... O he'll blow my car away blah blah blah I dont have a chance his Rustang is a rocket. So then he starts talking money ... Im like Dude im not gonna street race, lets go to the track ( Time slips dont lie :D ) So long story short, a month more of **** talking, me telling him put more money where his mouth is, he still wouldnt go to the track. So finally, I figured in the right places street racing isnt THAT dangerous so why not. We went out to this industrial park about 10 minutes from here, at 2AM, with a bunch of friends and agreed on going for 200$ ( Which is ALOT of money for someone like me, college student but I was feeling cocky ) He wanted to look over my car to make sure I wasnt lying about any mods or anything so I check his **** out, and we line them up. No passangers btw, just one guy down at the end and all our friends watching cause they all think his Mustang is so OMG fast. Apparently he drives like a maniac with ppl in the car, and I never floor it inless im by myself, I dont want to hurt someone because IM STUPID so ...

Anyways He does a huge burnout, I do a tiny one jsut to get any **** off the tires, NOT to heat em up, its not like their ET's or anything. The kid callin it brings his hands down, I ride the clutch some trying not to bog it at all ... Perfect launch, very minimal wheel spin, and it doesnt bog, he launches good too. I have him by a car out of the hole, and almost 2 by the top of first, top of 2nd im guessing I had about 4 on him maybe a little more, and by around 100MPH ( It was real close to a 1/4 mile ) I had at least 5 to 6 on him, if not more. Hehehe it was great.

He was reluctant to pay up though, but a bets a bet, and since all of our friends were there they all starting dickin him and told him pay up. So now im 200$ richer, and have an EXTREMELY PISSED OFF girl friend. No she wasnt in the car, nor was she there. She hates the idea of racing though. Go figure, shes drives her Honda like a maniac, scares the **** out of me, I drive like an old man with her in the car, and she goes NUTS when she hears I won 200$ racing this kid ... lol And she wouldnt have even heard about it had my best freind not found the need to stir **** up.


So I guess now I need to spend some of my 200$ on her :o Take her out to dinner or something and apologize for racing even though she hates it lol.

Looks like I currently have enough money for buying my RR's now :D And all winter to mod the car since it will be garaged.

For those who didnt want to read the book, ill summarize it, guy talks ****, I tell him put MORE money where his mouth is, finally we race, I KILL him big time.

LOL thats a good story. Ya some of those 5.0 guys can get cocky, saw a stock sounding/looking 5.0, license plate: "L8erls1."

Ran into a kid years back w/ a stripped 5 liter(Et's and all) that was talkin about all kinds of crap he had done to his car from Laroccas...We went head to head and I blew him away in my 97 LT1 w/ a few mods....Kid was positive I had engine work/ full exhaust, he wasnt too happy to hear I had a few bolt ons and stock manifolds...good kill

but 200 bucks is 200 bucks. Good job I guess, and even better job finding a 95 LT1 with that few miles on it. I thought I got lucky when I found a '93 with 19K a few years back! Usually people that want to throw down that much cash with an inferior car have a "hidden" 100 shot waiting for you.

Like was stated before... Be careful, because next time you might be the one pulling the money from your wallet to hand to the other guy.

But under the circumstances I think you did the right thing. This story reminded me of the funniest race I ever had was in my old 93 Z28, against a kid I worked with that had a 84 or 85 RX-7. The guy told me how the car would run 11s, all it had was a K&N air filter, no turbo, no nothing.... I asked if he even had it at the track, and he no. I then said I'd like to race hiim some time in my 14 second car :D You have to understand, had you seen the RX-7, it was having enough trouble simply staying running, let alone being able to put down 11 second timeslips. :no:

We raced and it wasn't even funny, I ripped him pretty hard.
His buddies were doing the same thing accusing me of nitrous, Heads, cam, etc... I popped the hood, they asked if it was a 305, I said no its a LT1, and then they asked if I swapped in a Corvette motor :rolleyes:

Yea ... I knew he didnt have Nitrous though since we agreed to look over each others cars first, plus he wouldnt be able to keep his mouth shut about something like that. Just the person he is he has to ramble blah blah blah about everything he has and how sweet it is and how much better it is than everything. Most of the time it is, but he lost for once :D

He took me for a ride in it yesterday when we went out, and MAN is that thing a DOG. Im betting he would run, at best a 14.5 ! It was a turd ... and the 5-6 carlengths is estimated ... I was busy watching ahead to make sure no one/thing unexpectedly appears in front of me since it was at an industrial park. Im not too good at estimating from my rear view mirror lol . I always think people are right on my ass when their actually not so it may have been slightly more ? If he has stock gears and is a newbie dumbass (sounds like he is) he will not run better than mid 15's. He sounds like the type of kid who does not know how to do a tuneup.

I was going full throttle, however, Once I knew I had him beat for sure, I didnt try to shift it as fast as I possibly could. No need to miss a shift and over rev it when I was already winning :D Overrevs :cry:

It was hard to tell exactly how much distance I had on him, it was dark out, I was trying to drive/listen/shift/watch out for anything since it wasnt at a track, so like I said, it may have been even more, All I know is that it wasnt even close ... The only time it was was in first and thats cause Traction only lets you launch so hard. All I know is it was fun, and im glad I bet the money on it.

A few weeks back I posted this in the lounge about how he wanted to race me and there was guys saying that he might beat me! They were saying how his Mustang, if drove right is a drivers race ... And its an Auto so after the launch there aint much to it. They actually had me worried for like half a second.

I agree. Maybe he wasn't going full throttle in the LT1.

No way anyone would race someone that was mouthing them and go half throttle..... In that situation, I would keep my foot to the floor even if I was a bus lengths ahead just to "Rub" it in that much more.

I know what is involved to make an auto Mustang give decent times, and from that list of mods that kid had a better chance of losing his virginity to Brittany Spears than winning the race :)
