cocky cobra owner

driving down a 4 lane road and i see a stang coming up behind me, looked like it could be a v8 so i slow down. sure enuff there is a redlight coming up but we line up 4 cars back! ohwell. its a cobra, sweet :D then i look over and he is dropping the top and got his music blaring. aight cool, he looks younger maybe he will run em. i ask if its supercharged, and he replies that its not , and i ask if its 01 and he say yes. then goes to say "ur slow". i am like what. light turns green i pace him for a biit , then whistle at him to see if he would follow or slow down and go from a slow roll.
gt his atention and i ask if he wants to run it. he says "13's" i say "what". he says 13's. ok so what are you trying to say? he says that he is to slow for me! like in a cocky way! then i say just real quick, 40-70 roll? he says im not worth his time! :mad: so i say "12.8" . he says good for you, and i floor it and cut him off! then honk and wave to him.
<< i know that was childish but he was gettin on my nerves! about 22 years old and had a nice car, and a lil too cocky for my likings! guess i am a lil confused and z28 is no match for a 01 auto convert cobra!!

On the hwy he should have taken you fairly easy..those 01's run hard w/the right driver

No auto Cobra...'93-'04s are all manuals, unless converted to an auto.

He didn't want to run so IMO you should've just went on your merry way. No need to get upset.

the reason for lying is that he was bothering me with his cockiness and i figured if i threw a better then him, he might run to see what would happen!
and the cutting off part, i should have explained that better! i pretty much floored it real quick and got in front of him and then turned left to do a u turn! its all good though. i am over it now!

It happens at all levels. Viper owner who thinks a Z06 isn't worth his gas, Z06 owner who thinks a Cobras isn't worth the gas, Cobra owner who thinks LS1 isn't worth his gas, LS1 owner who thinks LT1 isn't worth the gas, LT1 owner who thinks Mustang GT isn't worth the gas, and so on, and so on.

If you are driving anyone of the cars listed above.....YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT GAS MILEAGE!!!!! I race anyone who wants to go.....I do not get many with the L but I used to get ALOT with the Formula.

You have a reason to be ticked off at the idiot in the Cobra. Drivers like that get on my nerves too. I don't think I would have cut him off, but I wasn't in your situation.

i wouldnt call myself the cocky in now way in this situation. but i would say that i was aggravated driver at the end of our lil convo!
picture this: i purposely missed my turn to wait for the cobra, then we get side by side, with me on the right hand side of him! and he wont go so i give up talking to this guy, floor the gas get into his lane to pull a u turn! then brake and turn around! i didnt push him off the road or anything. just wanted to clear taht up.
when i line up with other cars i really dont car about if i win or lose( all though i would rather win) its more of seeing how i par up and getting the adrenaline pumping

Saying that someone doesn't want to waste their gas was just meant that they don't think the other car is worth their time/effort. However, just because you don't care that you get single digit gas mileage in your L :p , don't assume others with cars in that list don't care. I happen to very much enjoy the fact that I get 28 mpg on long trips and 22 mpg overall :)

Nah, no one on here with a LS1 Z or TA would ever say stock they ran in the 12's would they? Noooooooo. :D

We all drive the cars for one reason...TO GO FAST!!!!! I wish I could get 28 to 22 from the L 'cause it does suck to fill up the HUGE tank on the damn thing twice a week (fill on monday and splash on Thursday...300 miles round trip a week)

Formula was not that great either.....I need to start driving it again though. Getting spoiled to the truck and you know if a F-bod gets no driving attention, it will give problems to you (due to jealousy)
