Brady ran the 9.55 on an old setup. His new setup/car was supposed to be even faster, but I havent heard much about it in a while.

Do you have anymore information about Daren "Wikid TA"? Id include him if I had an exact time and mph and more information on his car. Thanks :)

You might want to try a "search".... this topic ("fastest lists") comes up about once a year for the last 3 years or so, and there are already several of these lists in existance. I know we put Jonh McMullin's 25th T/A on there, running (if I recall correctly) 9.4@150MPH when he won the second "Fastest Stock Suspension F-Body" event at E'town in 2001. The first event was won by a 3rd Gen, running a nitroused LT1 in the low to mid-9's..... Tony ???? - can't remember his name (fame is fleeting.... :) )

Madman/Ducote Formula - 9.14? 2000 or 2001 at ETown? Weren't we there Chris or did he run that a few weeks before?

Madman/Castro Z/28 - 9.5 ~ 2000?

George Welter, 93 Pace Car Z/28, first supercharged LT1 in the 10's, circa 1998? Where is that car now?

Jay Billingsley, 93 Z/28, 9.29 or so in 2002? Also went 10.8 n/a.

Pro Stock John,

That's what I posted. Ralph Olivarez at AF1M ran a 9.56 @ 141mph in Dallas Castro's old Z28 a couple of years ago when the new owner barely bought if off Castro. For some reason, it was not listed?????????

No...lol...from what I heard he expects the block to last 3-4 passes at full boost(91.5mm turbo). He'll have quite a few shakedown passes before that though.

the times you have listed for me are from my 95 Formula that had a 396 with nitrous, not my 94 z28 that you have listed. on motor the firebird went 10.46 @ 128. solid roller 396 with LT4 heads and TH400

chevyguy3
10-18-2004, 10:52 PM
also if you decide to do a heads/cam list, back when i had a stock shortblock and 6 speed in the car it went 11.34 @ 121 on motor and 10.54 @ 132 on the bottle

cam was a 254/259, .664/.656, 112LSA

200hp shot, but very tuned down for a ways out of the hole since i had bumper standing problems

heads actually werent hogged out much, had much smaller runner ports than all the "Stage 3" LT4 heads i have seen. 2.00/1.60 valves, 279cfm max intake flow on a bench that supposedly reads low (dont really know if thats the case or not). they seemed to work well on all 3 combos they had been on though (same heads that were on my stock shortblock combo, and same heads George Baxter ran before switching to his Canfield setup)

The stock internal record at 10.86 is Craig Millers 96 T/A. The motor was totally stock valve covers had never been off. The car had hooker longtubes and a mufflex exhaust. Moroso cold air, and a 52mm t/b. I put a th400 with brake and a 9" in it. It had stock interior and all the accessories. The car had a 150 dry NOS kit on it. The car went a 1.38 60ft and was deadly consistent. The key was the suspension.

FASTEST BOLTON LT1 (just need a set of RR's and valve springs, heck I could prolly do it with just a PCM tune) :D
FASTEST INTERNALLY STOCK LT1 (a 150 shot ought to do it)
FASTEST CAM ONLY LT1 (easy just get a bigger cam if necessary)
FASTEST HEADS/CAM LT1 (Challenging but doable)
FASTEST STOCK BOTTOM END LT1 (more challenging but great if I could hit a 9 without building the motor) :metal:

Its a VERY impressive time, Im not taking away from your accomplishment by not adding your name to the list. But seeing how rockerarms have been ruled a bolton, I dont really see a point in creating an NA untouched LT1 section when the bolton listing is pretty much the same thing minus one mod. All you have to do is beat one of those times and I'll put you on the list.

150 shot footbrake off idle launch on the spray
1.437 60ft
6.565 @103.79 1/8
10.354@129.34 1/4

only 200 shot shakedown pass---footbrake NA launch hit the spray right at the 60ft
1.592
6.595@107 1/8
10.27@133.24 1/4

Should be in the 9's once I play with the timing and launch harder (1.3 60ft should be easy of the t-brake) then maybe I can make the list.

I'm curious, At what altitude are the fastest LT1 cars running? Between Denver and Vegas can be as much as 5 tenths of a second difference so I think that where they run would be a big issue.

60ft- 1.87
1/8th- 7.41@102.40
1/4- 11.31@126.54

The car is a 95 Camaro Z28, 6spd, stock gears, bone stock motor except for 1.6RR's and addition of suspension components. The car is using the PTK Gen 1 street kit with PT66 p-trim .96 A/R, 2.5" downpipe. Car was dyno tuned at 8psi on 93 pump gas and tap water in the intercooler and made 479rwhp/555rwtq. I have sent him larger head unit and he will be running ice in the IC and ~10psi. Should be a competitive #.

Jose, your 97 SS made 460 rwhp BEFORE the turbo?? Out of a AFR 195 headed, stock intake 383 with 8.5 to 1 compression? Please elaborate.

I added him to the list, You wouldnt happen to know the size of his engine or other specs?

I dont know much about the engine, As he keeps quiet about it. I do know from looking at the car it is full factory interior (even back seats) The car looks completely stock other than a cage.

Unfortunatly he had a mishap at Gateway a few months back, but the car will be back on the street come spring time.

Which cars are you talking about(Ill look into them if you can help give me an idea)? I was hoping people would be truthful, and that readers of the list would help weed out wrong numbers, cars, people etc. I chose this process due to most official lists leaving out several names. Usually due to the fact that those people never look at that website to post/verify their times.

FASTFATBOY, yeah, my car was a 383, with 10.5cr, CC306, LT4 intake, 195 AFR heads that were fully ported...etc..etc. The car I posted about is not my car, its a customers car though, with a stock motor and PTK turbo kit. My car now has a custom turbo cam, 8.5CR and its a fully forged bottom end. I have not run mine yet, nor has it been on the dyno....yet.

Do you have anymore information about Daren "Wikid TA"? Id include him if I had an exact time and mph and more information on his car. Thanks :)

http://www.wideopenwest.com/~daren96ta/

Doh..totally forgot about Daren's convertible. Thanks

Thanks Guys :) :D

Ya, those times were a few years ago. I've upgraded a few things since then..jessel rockers, F.A.S.T.sequencial Wideband engine managment system and never had a chance to get back to the track.

Unfortunally I doubt I'll be racing the car again. :(

Agostino Racing really screwed me over for the past 2 years. While my car was up there for the installation of the new FAST system Wade "dickhead" decided to place my rotating assembly into another customers car(called Stealing here in the States) and charged him for new parts and decided to jump ship leaving me screwed without a bottom half. Nick tried to compensate, but basically I got screwed over since he couldn't do anything to replace my loss for the past year dispite all the BS promises.
I gave them every chance and still they couldn't keep good on any promises. I've been fighting with them for months and finally just got my car back without my motor completed before I would lose anymore stuff if they close up shop for good. I got a new block, new callis crank in the box...and all the parts for my motor except rods, cam, and pistons.

The car is now FORSALE if anyone wants to finish this. Price is unbeliveably low, but I'm out of racing.

$12,000 or best takes everything I own for the car. I'm just basically giving it away for that price. I just don't have the time anymore to finish this and continue racing.

Check out my web page if your looking for a 9 sec car that needs $3k in parts to be back up and running.

Im going to reorganize the list this weekend and seperate it into two lists, Power Adders and Naturally Aspirated. Feel more than welcome to post up your times, I'll add them this weekend.

CAM/ HEAD Lt1....figured I'd add James Eddy since he dont post here much..

ported factory lt1 castings and hyd. roller stock bottom end

1.49 60 ft.
7.01@99mph
11.05@120.1
race weight est. around 3500lbs
Unfortunately Im running out of room(character limit) :( , other wise I'd expand the list to include everyone. Maybe sometime this spring I'll make a seperate website.

I race at 5,300 elevation. I guess my ? is do corrected times count. Up here this past weekend I went 11.33@122mph on a 1.58 60'. DA was 6,000'. Corrected for Sea Level was 10.41@131mph. All Motor 6 speed car.

398cid
Solid Roller
AFR 210's
Currie 9" with 4.56's
Weight should be 3,400 pound(that's a guess)
Car made SAE 500.4rwhp & 457.1rwtq, uncorrected here made 413rwhp & 376rwtq.

If you don't use corrected times that's cool. I'm just stuck at a mile high that's all.

Too bad Mike Moran's motor isnt an LT1. He did very well at the Rock the other week too. 6.29 at 201 I believe. I'm thinking about giving him my LT1 and see what he could do with a little power adder...but then again that takes all the fun out of building your own motor!

Can you make a spot for the fastest Stock Internal N/A LT1 class. I am going for the record and I am currently in 2nd place by .05 seconds. I'm having my Stage 3 clutch installed on the 24th and then the record will be mine soon after that  Then I might join roadtrip and go battle it out for the 11's in the bolt on class. that would be bad ass

I'm shooting for the SI NA 6spd LT! record which is 12.48....As far as the lis being too long?? I dont follow. a list can be as long as some one wants to make it. Top 5 or 10 should be fine. The list for any of the categories COULD be long....its just how many do you want to/need to list...

Yeah put my time up there quick. It may only last 5 minutes.

Looks like I won't get another chance for a long time. It's been raining every day since thanksgiving and the evening drags are done until at least March depending on the weather.

so is it 10.49 or 10.48 ....you need to make your mind up :p

it will still be a while before car is back up and runing, just a freshen, and Eric Bradby has my heads, apparently they weren't flowing what i was told last year!!! wtf! anyhow that and couple of other "slight" improvements  nothing drastic though.:D

I have been faster but can't find the slip the car trapped 146! I was having serious problems launching the car but I fixed that on the last day of the season cut a 1.39 tripping the beams with the back tires :) and aborting that run early. I have done some serious weight reduction on the car and found some more HP so I'm shooting for 8s this year I'll crush this number in a couple months.
