What does "TC Activated" mean

Ok So I'm rowing through the gears and as I slam it into third gear the navigation screen goes off "TC ACTIVATED"

I wonder what that means?

It means that your scaring old ladies, young children and stupid people that think you going too fast cause your car is loud(even though your at 2000rpm, first gear in a 50zone)

Ironically, if you shift up a gear, and go the same speed or faster, the complaints stop.
