I currently have SLP FLOW PAC (LID / CAI BELLOW), SLP STAINLESS EXHAUST, DIABLO TUNED.
Now I am going to add 3.73 gears, which stall speed converter should I get and any brand recommendations?
The engine is stock other than the intake.
Also, Aburn differential, good or bad?
THANKS

Yank makes top quality stuff but its very expensive. if you can afford it, id go with about a 3500 or so for the street.
for a LITTLW less money, without sacrificing quality, the old Vigilante 3200 (which is actually somewhere between 3600-3800) is a GREAT street converter. in addition there are plenty of guys going 1.5 sixty foots on them. ;)
Hello,
Thanks for the info, your time of 12.11 is impressive, what do you think really
contibuted the most in getting you to that time?
I see you have a crate tranny, did that play any part?

thanx for the compliment. the biggest factors in my ET were the converter (paired with drag radials of course) and my longtubes.
i went from a 13.50 to a 12.90 with the converter and then 12.90 to a 12.30 with the longtubes and off-road y-pipe.
also, the 12.11 was on my old slightly lower stall (TCS 3400) converter. i haven't made a pass at the track on the Vig yet but according to the dyno, it's more efficient and it DEFINITELY hits harder on launch. i would say this converter will probably put the car at a 12.0 or even a possible high 11.90....
my 4L65E was just a replacement for a blown up stocker (broke sunshell into 4 pieces.) i was going to go with a stage 1 built tranny but instead i decided the 65 was a decent upgrade for my modest power and it wasn't a rebuild which is always a plus. also, i got it for dealer cost and it came with the same 1 year 12K mile warranty most built 4L60Es come with.
