Note that this all refers to 16x8" wheels only.
I have a 1998 Z28. I also have an old set of 3rd gen rims lying around...
3rd gen wheels were "matched" to the front or back of the car. The fronts had a zero offset and the rears had a -16mm offset. This I already know.
I'm reasonably sure (but not 100%) that the 4th gen wheels have -55 offset on all four corners. Would the 3rd gen wheels (-16mm offset) bolt onto my 4th gen without any clearance problems? I am primarily interested in clearance and banging off of things...
(Note that I have also seen the above offsets expressed both as positive values. In either case, they are in the same direction and in this instance the mounting surface is moved towards the outside of the rim/car.)
Thanks.
