Ok, I have a 1980 Camaro that I bought off a friend of mine a few years ago. To make a long story short, the car was vandalized when some kids set it on fire. The roof is destroyed (bubbled up, holes in it) and the sail panel welds from the factory are now exposed due to the fire melting the lead that once filled the seam. Actually, the fire was more of a favor. I was going to gut the interior and put a 78 interior in it (Liked the layout more) and I needed a complete wiring harness for the car, due to the previous owner cuting into all the wires. The wiring couldn't be fixed at all, it was too far gone. So basically instead of removing all the interior and getting rid of it, all I have to do is suck it out with my trusty shop vac, lol :D Ok, now to my question, can I replace the roof on this puppy? I can weld, that's no problem. Can I just cut the old roof off and graft the new one on? or should I weld in some supports before I go chopping off the roof? Anyone swapped out the roof panel before? Thanks in advance,
