question on platic part in motor bay
question on plastic part in motor bay
i just recieved a slp lid and k&n filter today....well, i was intalling it and taking the factory parts off.....those dang plactic rivits were stuck bad...i got one out with no problem, but the other would not budge....finally it came out but with a pieace around it....it broke off the plactic around it with the plastic rivit still attached....it left a hole about the size of two quarters....my question is what kind of glue can i use to fix this???? since ill be glueing plastic to plastic.....i think super glue eats plastic......thanks for any help

But, I don't know about the underhood plastic.
I used hot glue on a headlight bucket off an '01 Z71 Silverado with good results - that may be worth a try first.
The good news is that if it broke where I think it did - see here - the part is supposedly cheap from the dealer.
Good Luck !

yup thats it....i noticed that i had two different tabs installed......one was way bigger in total thickness....this is why i had problems getting that one out....probally when i got my alternator replaced the last time they lost one of my tabs and replaced with whatever they had.....should they replace this for free, im still under factory warranty to 75000 miles.....

Of course, maybe you can get ahold of a nice Service Manager that will give you the part for free for you to install - ?
